Bowen Redhawk .45 Colt

Post by Scott Tschirhart »

My revolver has been in the shop for a little over a month now.

It’s finished and I got the invoice in Saturday’s mail.

Very reasonable.

I’ll pay it on Monday and see if I can’t get it in hand in the next week or two.

This one isn’t fancy. Just their basic package.

Plus adjusting headspace and endshake and a lanyard loop.

I’m afraid I didn’t read this correctly.

BOTH of the revolvers I sent to Bowen are ready to ship.

Invoices paid so they just need to do final inspections and send them out.

.
A Redhawk in 45 Colt is one of the best guns there is, even a non-Bowenized one...!

...although a friend had one in 357 Mag (one of the older six-shot ones) and I voted it likely the strongest DA revolver there is, given the cylinder wall thickness, and the lowest-recoil 357 Mag since it was so heavy. Kind of like the 30 Carbine Blackhawks...

I totally agree. Mine was a good shooter before I sent it off. But it needed a little TLC. It had signs of being rode hard and put up wet. Moreover it had no visible forcing cone.

Just my opinion, but the best accessory you can add to any handgun is a lanyard loop. I learned this after almost loosing a handgun.

Update……both of my Bowen guns are done. However, they have been so inundated with new orders that they have been delayed in shipping. I told Hamilton that there’s no reason to rush.

Apparently the announcement of his retirement spurred more than a year’s worth of business to pour in in a very short time.
