Hey! Gamekeeper wins a page!
I know we don't turn them as often these days, but that just makes it more special!
I got a little done today. Not bad for a Monday, coming off my "work week" with a 3hr power nap. We are on vacation this week, so hopefully we will get some time to do something together.

LRe: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
We have a lot less in the predator department over here so the rabbits can become a plague unless decimated by disease. It happened in Australia and they imported myxomatosis from south America and then it was spread in the UK illegally by farmers in 1953. The latest disease HRD was first seen in 2014 with mortality rates between 70 and 100%. Personally I'd rather have the predators, not so efficient and could also be hunted

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I don't hunt rabbits anymore. We had a beagle when I was a kid, and we hunted them during the winter months.
I can't remember the last time I shot one. I don't really care to eat them so I leave them be.
It's partridge I hate to see the predators decimating. When the predators cause a reduction in their preferred or easy game, they don't starve. They just start killing something else. They may have smaller litters, but that's the only real change. They will kill whatever they are able to catch and eat.

Predators are adaptable, over here you are more likely to see a Fox in the city than in the countryside.

That's for sure. The coyotes here are incredible. As much harm as they cause, you have to marvel at their uncanny ability to adapt, survive, and thrive. Their senses border on the supernatural.

Holy smokes! That was quite a commercial break. I'll have to sit down and go over what I've been up to. I'll get some pics up.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I spent 6 hours over a couple of days bush hogging at camp. I did down the sides our roads, the clearing down by the stream, and this old landing. The landing is across our main road, and actually on our friends property. When we first got the lot, we threw some seed down, but it hadn't been long enough since the logging. Lots of bark and little soil. I've given it 8 years or so and it's growing in so I figured I'd go over it. Hopefully after a year or so of mowing it, it will be a decent future food plot for deer.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Nice pictures, Jay! What do you normally keep on the Deere old rifle rack?
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Thanks Walt! I had that old mount on the hump of an 87 Dodge pickup I used to drive back and forth to work. I kept a 30-30 on the hump like the old police cruisers used to mount a shotgun.
It's been out in the garage since the late 90s, so I put it to use on the tractor. That's just my old beater .357 Rossi 92 on thay day.

I also got out for a trail ride with the old Jeep this week. It was going to be a hot day, so I took off before it warmed up too bad. Took a ride up through West Athens, South Solon, Brighton, and Kingsbury by our old camp. Familiar trails are sometimes best.
My Ruger GSR is riding in the rifle scabbard on this day.

Nice trails, Jay! Capable Jeep and great pictures. Thanks!
Amy and I went on an ATV ride in the mountains last Friday, only the second time she's piloted her own rather than riding with me. We had a really nice time aside from it being dry and dusty. We only rode about 20 miles but it was quality time. I'll take pictures next time.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Glad you got out Walt. Some days it's nice to just ride and actually enjoy the time instead of worrying about pictures. I totally get it.
It's freakin beautiful here today. It's in the 60s, with a nice breeze, and clear as a bell.
I should be out riding, not going to work tonight.

Some great photos Jay and I'm seriously impressed with the Jeep
I ain't got much to report, I walked around a fair bit carrying a shotgun but never even saw a Squirrel
I did get bitten by a Spider which didn't turn out much fun for me or the Spider...

Well, I see you guys have been turning pages like there’s a 300 mph wind pushing the pages…….
Just wanted to inform you guys that suppressors are now cleared within 3 business days. My buddy at Targetmaster does all of the finger printing, photo”s and paperwork. Took me 30 minutes and I was B.S.’en for 27 minutes.
Made by Rugged (the best according to my buddy)….
.22 Ocolus….ZERO sound with standard velocity and the same with the 300 Blackout….also a Rugged….Alaskan 360 TI Multi Caliber…100% Titanium…..unless you get it adapted to a Rossi and then it’s cardboard. Having a special mount made for the mighty BAR. This thing is belt fed machine gun rated. They both can be taken apart in seconds..great for the 220 Lyman’s for the Blackout.
Until the next happy moment, Sayonara…..the one and only——6. (It’s so nice having the working man’s energy being used I so can get this stuff free….FREE….just like the illegals.)

Yes GK, I've seen that guy. That old XJ Cherokee sure takes a thrashing. Those old XJs were pretty tough. Kristy drove one for several years. I put a small lift on it and had some 31" mudders on it. She still misses that old XJ, but not my mods!
Glad you are doing well Six. Looks like some fun toys.
I wouldn't mind having a suppressor, but as long as it requires a NFA permission slip, I'll pass.
Take care.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
It was freakin beautiful yesterday. In the 60s, clear as a bell, with a nice breeze. I ran to camp, fired up the old JD, and started grabbing out the clearing behind camp. It's growing in with a lot of scrub pines and scattered hardwoods. I've been wanting to clear it and plant a couple apple trees. Maybe plant some other stuff or just mow it. It would also be a good spot for a couple solar panels if I want.
The pines are mostly 4 to 6 inches at the butt. I've been trimming most if the limbs, then cutting them off at about 4 feet. Then chaining up the tractor and pulling out the stumps with the tractor. It amazes me what that little tractor will do. I'm piling the trees and brush to dry. I'll burn it this winter. The stumps I've been hauling down in the woods. There's just nothing else to do with them.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
A very satisfying project
if you're going to plant some Apple trees make sure one is a Bramley for the best Apple pies.....
I'm thinking about getting a little 28 gauge just in case the elusive Squirrels ever show up
I may give my .410 to my son being as he keeps borrowing it, I have a 16 to 410 adapter so I won't miss it.
I see some cartridge manufacturers are stuffing one ounce of shot in the little 28 gauge shells, seems like a stupid idea to me

Deer like apple pie?
I've never used a 28ga. My kids have liberated a few of my guns too.
Well, day 2 at camp. We grubbed out quite a bit today. I have quite a "stump dump" down in the woods. We also have 2 pretty bug brush piles going. We have most of it done at least. Gonna hit it again tomorrow I think.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
My son came home the other day with a Baikal O/U 12 gauge he was looking for a 20 gauge but this was a bargain because the stock had been shortened and then put back to original length so I offered to pay for it as a birthday present and now looking for a replacement stock.

Hey! Looks like I can finally log on!
That's a great gift buddy! Good for you. I don't think I've ever got a firearm as a gift. I take that back, I got my Smith and Wesson 629 for my HS graduation.
Well, I ripped Sunday off from work and headed to camp. Worked all day up on the hill opening up an old twitch trail that is going to loop up and around to our main road just in past the gate. This isn't a foot path, but will be usable by the tractor, 4 wheeler, bikes, and snowmobile. My Jeep would probably fit too. It will help with hunting access and for cutting wood up there. It's very nice up there. I didn't take any pics, but I will get some next time I'm up.
My dad called me over the other day and had a gift for me. He went up to the town garage and had them make him a street sign. They gladly did it for him for free. I'm going to put it on a post and pit it at the turnoff to our camp road from our main road through the property.
The name........?
WINCHESTER rd........,of course.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Haha thanks guys!
Took the TW for a little ride this morning before it got hot. Went out through The Notch to Lake George. Then I took a little single track trail that scales a crazy steep ridge up through the woods to another old road. I left it in 1st and just chugged to see if it would go. The old crate never spun a tire and dragged my carcass right up that twisty slope. Then I slow cruised down that road till I hit rt2. Ran about a hundred yards down the road till I hit the old road down into Oak Pond. I took a look around and then took a slow cruise back. Had a blast. Such a great little bike.
Then when I got home I hadn't had enough so I dumped some fuel in the DRZ and figured I'd take a quick ride cause it was getting warm. That turned into 90 miles. Warm, but a good ride. Ran a lot of trails and roads I'd never been on. Only snapped one picture all day. Taking a break at Kingsbury Pond, where there was a nice breeze.

Way to go, Jay! You had an excellent 2-wheel day. Thanks for the picture. It looks wonderful.
My wife and I are headed to Amarillo tomorrow to spend a couple of days with our kids and grandkids. It's about a four hour drive for us and about the same for our son and his family near Ft Worth and also for our daughter and her family in Oklahoma City. We rented a big house with an indoor pool and we'll have a great time with the whole family.
