anyone who has to use a gun to stop a criminal, and gets sued, should counter-sue the parents for raising a criminal. the flip of the parents being charged for the actions of their childrens . . .

A judge with common sense will throw out this case , but they are few and far between.

To carry a gun without a legal defense plan is extremely reckless. I agree that we are not the problem, it is lawless individual content to prey on whoever is available. However, you can never dismiss a bleeding heart judge or jury that finds you criminally or civilly liable. The best case scenario is you are no billed/exonerated/found innocent, but as we have seen civil courts are not respecting findings of criminal courts. You could lose everything you have worked for and even have serious relationship issues in the aftermath of the shooting. I actually bought a slingshot years ago after there was a post regarding a man that had mastered the slingshot. Guess I better retire it!

Indiana got a law passed that if you use a gun in self-defense and are vindicated by the courts as having done so, that you are not allowed to be sued by the person you shot.

Look up attorney Guy Relford, a.k.a. “The Gun Guy”. He has a website for his law office and a show on WIBC radio. It might be worth emulating in your state if you can get a legislator or advocate to sponsor a similar law.

The impetus in Indiana was a woman who was a concealed carrier, and intervened to save the life of a law enforcement officer who is being attacked, and had been disarmed by the criminal. The criminals family sued her, even though she was clearly intervening to save a life. Relford is a pro gun attorney and took out the cars, ultimately getting legislation passed to assure that that that thing would never happen again.
