DMSO is saving my neck

Post by earlmck »

I wrote about DMSO a couple times on here 'cause I know most of us are hitting that age where little arthritic aches and pains are a constant. My old neck had finally got bad enough it was scaring me and I spent 7 months and $3000 on chiropractic last year trying to get a little relief. "A Midwest Doctor" steered me to DMSO which I have been using for about 5 months now and slowly slowly the old stiff neck has been coming along. I noticed a few days ago that I could tip it back far enough to gargle. I hadn't been able to gargle in 20 years. I didn't miss the occasional gargle all that much but I sure had missed the ability to gargle! And the old arthritic fingers still feel arthritic but I can now close them into something resembling a fist and I hadn't been able to do that for at least a decade. This DMSO stuff is some good poop.

Progress seems slow and I don't notice a bit of improvement on a day-to-day basis but what a change over a few months for this old stiff-necked ***!

Just passin' along the update for you fellers that might also have some aches and pains. And I'm getting my stuff off Amazon. The "DMSO Store" brand has been best, especially for a feller who doesn't like to rub it on so has been mixing a tablespoon/day into his juice. It tastes a little nasty but another brand I tried was really really nasty in the juice.

I wonder if that might be helpful for my knees?

So glad you are finding relief Earl. I hope your hands are getting back to where you can shoot handguns with impunity again.
I'll have to take another look at this stuff. At some point I convinced myself that putting chemical solvents on my skin was not a very good idea, but I may not even have classified DMSO correctly.
It's a relevant topic at my house, as I am due for yet another P.T. evaluation for back pain and the pain doc is just salivating to do more spinal injections, which have rarely worked in the past.

Oh I'd put money on the DMSO helping knees. Mine are titanium/plastic so kinda' beyond help but it has improved a rasty hip considerably.

I'm getting it in the liquid form. Clear liquid, looks like water but sure doesn't taste like water. Totally ruins orange juice but tolerable in cherry, apple, pomegranate that I have tried so far.

And Bill, you are correct that it was originally used as a solvent but it has been extensively researched by OHSU here in Oregon and has lots of life-improving properties. I'm gonna' try emailing you some more info.

I had forgotten about DMSO until your earlier post . I too bought it from Amazon. I remembered how nasty it was from years ago but this high grade stuff just smells. I don't taste it from topical use like the old stuff. That's a plus!!
My knees are crunchy, it helps.
Of late my right elbow has been giving me fits, as a carpenter I'm always aggravating it more. The DMSO hardly touched it.
Then my Chiropractor buddy treated it with ultrasound and it was good for a couple days. So I bought my own ultrasound, daily treatments really has helped. The unit i bought was $145. Just need an ointment that has warming characteristics, rub it on then the ultrasound wand gets the conductive gel. Might be good for your back Bill! Let me know and I'll send you the link.

I thought DMSO was a solvent used as a liniment. I didn't know people were drinking it.

Another thing I've heard about, is castor oil. Apparently rub it into the affected area and it supposedly breaks up stiffness from arthritis and such. If it's true or not I don't know. Worth a shot being all natural.

Long before people started using it on themselves they were using it as a liniment on horses. I tried it back in the 70's for my bum wrist but I couldn't handle the taste it left in my mouth after rubbing it on my wrist. I was surprised that something rubbed on your skin could be tasted in your mouth!
