Not Your Father's Levergun...
I guess part of me can appreciate the utility of this, and hope maybe it introduces newer/younger shooters to the joys of a levergun -- but PLEASE, make mine out of blued steel and walnut.
(First "levergun" posting in awhile for me -- I had to put something on here that has a lever...)
Old -- and dang proud of it -- No7

That's fine if that's someone's "thing", but I'll keep my fathers.......or great grandfather's leverguns.

Re: Not Your Father's Levergun...
I handled one this past weekend. I'll stick with my pre 64 Winchester and Marlins!
If you like it that's all those matters!

Fortunately they make a walnut version for us traditionalists.
I know several people who bought 1854’s and have shot theirs. S&W actually makes a very nice levergun for just getting into the game.
I’ll stick to my vintage Winchesters and Marlins, but the multiple flavors of 1854 are a very viable option for the new generation of levergunners.

Not for me! BUT I do not live in an area where there is a lot of bad weather and if I did I would like a rig like that. Blue steel and walnut for me! However anything that brings people to this side of the fence I approve of!

Re: Not Your Father's Levergun...
Nope, n not mine either, ever! To each his own, we're all this way. But I worry that when sells of these "imposter's" go up, it's furtherance of the hope of ever reviving any new real leverguns being made again. Idk, but it certainly won't help!

.
Why not have both...?
When the Mattel-Toy mouse-guns came out with their triangular plastic forends, I wouldn't have traded a plastic squirt-gun for one, but over the years the concept was refined, and I now own an AR (or two).
If it is sunny out I'll take one of my walnut and blue steel leverguns (quite a few of "grandpa's guns" to choose from - since I'm the grandpa).
If it is mildly crummy out I'll take one of my walnut and stainless steel leverguns (Marlin 1894 SS in 44 Mag)
If it is even worse out I'll take my walnut and nitrided stainless levergun (BHA 89). It looks even more 'traditional' than my Marlin 1894 SS.
If I'm going to be out in the rain for sure, for a long time, I'll take my aluminum-stocked and stainless 'Ranger Point Precision' Marlin 1894 in 357 Mag.

Re: Not Your Father's Levergun...
Not my thing at all. Places like AR15.com have threads on 'Tactical' Lever guns with all the stuff to allow hanging a bunch of nonsense on them. To me, the Winchester 88 is as modern of a levergun style as I want.

Re: Not Your Father's Levergun...
Frankly, the 1895 Winchester is too modern for me. Lately, I've found shooting my 1873 & 1860 to be as modern as I need. If only Taylor's & Uberti would build my Carbine length 1860 I ordered 6 years ago!

Some will love it. I personally hate it.
