All this "war" tech is absolutely terrifying. I would imagine it is how the native americans felt when facing cannon and gatling fire for the first time

Agree. Racing to find new technologies to control and/or destroy human lives seems counterintuitive. Too bad we are so good at it.

I could see me as a Russian fighting in Ukraine and walking up the road and tank pulls up and the commander says,

"Поднимитесь дальше. Мы возвращаемся в штаб" ("Hop in we're going back to HQ").

I'd say, "Я бы предпочел прогуляться"................ (I'd rather walk)
