I saw their email today. Can't wait to get my hands on a .44 Magnum. I had one in .41 Mag, but just don't care for the cartridge. It was a great shooter though.

Happy to see these revolvers. One piece barrels, gold bead front sights and much better grips!

Might have to buy my first 44 mag. Hopefully they reintroduce their 625 in 45 Colt so I don't have to.

Trump Effect. Not joking.
Re: More no lock Smiths!!!
They need pinned barrels and old style firing pins (on the hammer) also to be historically accurate.
Re: More no lock Smiths!!!
After some research it turns out S&W plans to offer three nostalgia models without the lock. THAT IS ALL !!! The lock is not gone and we are expected to pay a big premium to delete something nobody wants in the first place. (I guess, I don't know the price) S&W has to be the most messed up company in the industry to stubbornly refuse to drop this most hated handgun feature. How can they be so stupid? The lock is nowhere near close to gone. BTYW, this is not the first over priced, custom shop lock free offering.
As far as I can tell no matter how detail a replica S&W offers it will never be good enough for the die hard critics. So while S&W plans to continue to place looks on ALL the standard catalog revolvers they will offer a few odd ball clones that the true believers will never buy. When these guns do not sell that will just re enforce the pro lock mentality.
Thanks for NOTHIN !!!
And in case it is not obvious building any gun the way it was done 100 years ago will be expensive. No reasonable person should expect that for practical money. I am not going to pay for that. All I want from S&W are modern made 357 and 44 DA revolvers in stainless, adj sights and lock free. Not a premium custom gun. Maodern manufacture with all the compromise involved but no safety.

There is iron in your words, Fourbore.
Re: More no lock Smiths!!!
S&W announced 2 mountain guns with out locks; 686+ 4" barrel and a 629 4" barrel. They also just announced a 432 & 632 Titanium guns without locks. Hopefully it is a continuing trend.

$979.00 retail is what i saw for the pencil barrel Model 10 -- considering street price will be less , and nice used examples are $650-700 -- i didnt think the price was too egregious - everything new is pretty high now

Re: More no lock Smiths!!!
I have several S&W revolvers from .22 to .44. Some have the lock and some don't. Honestly...without looking, I don't know which one's have it or which one's don't. I don't have the keys....tossed them away. None has ever failed me though. My daily carry is a 3", 7 shot 686 and it has the Hillary hole but I trust my life carrying it. I wish it didn't have it but ...those weren't made. Actually...only one other has it, a .44 that I use for packing elk.

Re: More no lock Smiths!!!
I had an issue with my TRR8 lock. The flag would pop up under recoil and lock up the gun. It was returned to Smith who said "no problem during their check". It continued to do it so I removed it and installed The Plug. Problem solved.
