New (for me) .22 pump
I happened to be on the far side of town so stopped in at a gun shop from which I've bought a couple of guns. I browsed around, didn't see anything of interest but got to a back corner and saw a Winchester model 62A hiding there. Manufactured in 1949, it has a few scratches on the barrel and receiver but it's tight and has a shiny bore with sharp rifling. I brought it home and now it shares space with my old model 61, manufactered in 1952. I always wanted a .22 pump with an external hammer and this one is going to work out just fine.

Awesome find! Love my 62A, it was my dad's first gun.

Very nice Walt! I have a 61 and 62 also. They are great shooters. I really should take mine out at some point. Haven't shot them in some time.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Re: New (for me) .22 pump
My first .22 was a tired old Model 1890 with ugly stock repairs and, it turned out, a shot-out barrel, but I sure loved that thing. Bought it for $30 (Dad paid half) from the old Chet Paulson's gun shop in Tacoma, WA, about 1965.
I suspect even God is fond of a Winchester pump.

.
WOW - That is truly a great find...!!!
I've heard they are rickety and sometimes explode, taking out a whole neighborhood, so if you'd like I'd be glad for you to ship it to me for a few months to check it out thoroughly... I'd even pay one-way of the shipping.

Very nice. I'd love to find one myself.
