Longmire fans
I know a lot of people here liked him when he was on week to week, I've found him on again. There is a "Circle" network that carries him every day now. In the Tampa Bay area it's in Ch 44.5.

I like that show ! I saw seasons 1 & 2 then caught season 3 for free on the computer. I have seasons 4 & 5 and 6 on the DVD. Slowly watching them. Brings back why I liked the show in the first place.

If you ever get to Buffalo Wyoming( Longmire Country) they have a yearly celebration of everything Longmire. Land of the Johnson County Wars, the area in which Longmire was supposedly taking place in. The county museum has a Longmire dedicated room .

My wife and I have been to “Walt’s” cabin in the Valles Caldera, the “Sheriff’s” office in Las Vegas NM, and a few other locations where filming took place.

Re: Longmire fans
I have just discovered the Longmire series and it is on week nights 2 shows per night. Much better TV than most.

Re: Longmire fans
Seen the whole series when it was on (I think) Netflix? Or was it Prime? Either way, it's still n one of the premium services and I've considered going back and watching it again since I really liked the series.

Re: Longmire fans
Great series. Kathy and I really enjoyed it.
Re: Longmire fans
Love the series, but their courtroom scenes make old Perry Mason episodes look like manuals for good courtroom procedure. The absolute worst, most ridiculous writing I have ever seen. No hearing, trial or deposition was ever conducted the way they do them.

Re: Longmire fans
I enjoyed the show and sometimes watch old episodes.
I REALLY enjoy the books. I have 14 or 15 of them ... all but the latest 2 or 3. Some great writing and stories. The short stories are good also. I would rather sit down with one of the books than watch the videos .. but that's me. I enjoy reading.

Re: Longmire fans
I read today that a new limited Longmire series is in the works. They didn't give any more information, but I'm looking forward to it.
Re: Longmire fans
Longmire was a great series. Fantastic finale. But it made the mistake of being a show I really enjoyed. That always leads to cancellation.

I've read the same thing. Also that "Justified" was coming back for a limited run. Would be nice for both!
Re: Longmire fans
Still on Netflix as far as I can tell. I've probably watched it five or six times. No doubt I'll try to catch it next winter again.

I just binge watched all 6 seasons on Paramount+ over the last 2 weeks. I'd only seen intermittent episodes when it was 1st broadcast. Watchin it without commercial interruptions was a joy. Entertaining from the 1st to the last. Tho' I found it strange (sorta) as Walt kept clinging to a one-track agenda, despite mounting evidence he was wrong. I know just how hard that can be from personal experience, even one tries to keep an open mind, it's hard to disregard your gut! Conversely it can by doggedly following that gut-feeling that moves your suspicion of a hunch, while not ignoring alternate theories into hard evidence.

Watched it a few times with the wife. Saw the 'Sheriff office' in LV, NM on our way to Santa Fee, and have turned a few friends on to the series when it was on Netflix but I understand it's on Pluto and Paramount+ now.

I liked it enought I bought a CD set when I found one on sale. Pretty good series.
However I LOST my LONESOME DOVE set and am still looking for it. I have accused each of my kids of stealing it, just for good measure, but none confessed...

Dudes a pain in the butt - loooves the ladies (but appreciates his alone time too) and packs a 1911, model 94 and a Buck 110 --
so - my type of guy -- and i enjoy the rest of the cast of characters as well
Ive seen the series and watched individual episodes again occasionally. Sorry, not sorry - but favorite part was the romance angle when he takes in the sexy and tough (but slightly mannish) lady deputy and proceeds to lay down with her -- then the other lady rancher who is more age appropriate busts him because she is sashaying around in Walts old t shirt (or something like that) and doing the chick thing where she is on the porch carressing the coffee cup with both hands
-- great entertainment! -- The evil Casino owner theme gets repeated a bit in Yellowstone too

Waiting for him to let the hammer slip and shoot himself. Seriously who carries a 1911 in condition 2. Do like the grips though.

I wondered about that too. Thought it was odd and just hollyweird stuff.
Doug,
I always thought Katie Sacket was kinda hot and she cleans up well. Just a different kind of look, but she plays the "tough chick" well.

Sackhoff also did a credible job as Starbuck in the remake of Battlestar Galactica.

Re: Longmire fans
The local Grit channel has Longmire episodes on every day here. Usually 3 episodes each day starting before noon, and going until around 1:00PM Pacific time. I've watched the whole series, but if nothing is going on here I still occasionally watch an episode as I enjoy it better than most TV.

Re: Longmire fans
We've re-watched the whole series a couple of times. IIRC, in the books Walt's reasoning for carrying his 1911 hammer down was he wanted to be sure he had to shoot someone before he cocked it. Craig Johnson is a great writer, but I don't think he's much of a gun guy.
"When the shooting stops, and the dead are buried, and the politicians take over; it all adds up to one thing: a lost cause."
Re: Longmire fans
Years ago I was riding my motorcycle on a 200 mile loop from home, around the Jemez Mountains, through Los Alamos, then Santa Fe and and back home when I came upon a large tour bus with a bunch of people roaming around it, parked on the side of the road near the Valles Caldera. Months later I saw the same scene on Longmire; I had ridden past one of their sets.

I loved the show! I bought the entire series on DVD right after it was completed. First show I determined, gotta love a guy goes work with a 45acp, Mod 94 Win, and Stanley Thermos of coffee!
When Yellowstone came out I figured I'd love it? Not too many them, I quit. Way too far out dramatic! Mafia would blush on some things goes on on a cattle ranch like that! I did like the 1873 series, and just finished the 1923 series, liked it pretty good. But it's looking like the next ones are gonna be dramatic overdose!

Re: Longmire fans
I enjoyed the series and have gone back and watched a few favorite ones ... but I have most all the books and like them even better than the videos. I would rather read a book than watch a screen. Just my preference.
