Pictures added...Getting my 1876 50-95
I will be getting my Uberti 1876 50-95 Monday or Tuesday. I also got 5 boxes of ten-x factory loads that will be coming at the same time with the gun. I will have a 3 day weekend on July 4th so I plan on doing some shooting with it then. I can't wait..

Re: Getting my 1876 50-95
Good for you! I bought one (Chaparral) a month ago. I ordered ammo from Buffalo arms but they have the brass on backorder, It may be months!!
Ten-X is loaded with .509 bullets and the Chaparral needs .513 .
I may order a box next week to see if it will bump up and work without leading up the barrel. I`d hate to pay $95 for 20 + shipping just to get the brass.

Chuck, I think I read where the Uberti has a .510 bore. I hope the ammo I have coming shoots OK. Your gun looks great!
Has anyone on here ever sent brass back to ten-x to be reloaded? I reload for every caliber I shoot but I am considering send the 50-95 brass back to be reloaded because a set of RCBS dies is $282.99 from Midway. I will NEVER EVER fork out that much money for a set of dies!

Re: Getting my 1876 50-95
Crazy Horse , The reason I went with Buffalo`s ammo was two fold. First they load a .510 1:20 bullet with SPG lube and that SHOULD be closer to what I need .
Secondly they load Swiss black powder whereas 10X uses smokeless or 777 depending on the load you order. Should bump up the bullet better?
I guess there is three reasons, They want $85 instead of $95 for 20.
You can buy 4D dies from Buffalo for $156.

Have fun!!

Congrats on your purchase! Looking forward to the pics and range reports.
I'm waiting for a Marlin 336RC 35 Rem to 356 Win rechamber to arrive - probably a couple more weeks.
Thats really a handloading proposition too - though there is factory Winchester a 200 grain ammo - but I like heavier.
But the dies, brass and bullets are are all normal price level items.
$156 for a set of dies! Ouch!

I just read this post about the 4D dies taking the shoulder out of the case when it is resized. That dosen't sound to good for brass life. I wonder if that could have just been an isolated problem with that set of dies? To bad Lyman or Lee don't make them. I got a set of Lee 45-75 dies a while back but then the 50-95 came out and I went with it instead.

Interesting on the 4D dies. There is a large learning curve with these rifles for sure!

Excellent! I love those '76's, and you got the best cartridge of all.
