Using a Big Horn Armory rifle to harvest a BIg Horn Sheep is pretty poetic, and the cartridge is a classic... 8)

Nicely done and a fine trophy with a fine rifle. Congratulations!

At 71 there are a lot of folks who wouldn’t want to hunt that hard. I salute you!

I am 71 years old and spent 6 weeks hunting by myself in the mountains. I was hoping to find a larger one, but at my age I am happy. I saw a lot of sheep and had a great time in the mountains. This is my 2nd sheep in Wyoming and I am lucky they changed the rules and I can not apply again. (Thank God). I saw 13 bears, and moose, elk, and deer. I sold my pack string of horses and mules 3 years ago and I really missed them............Joe

Hey, Big Time Trophy in my book, excellent! And with an unmentionable sheep rifle these days, the popular opinion anyways! Congratulations would've loved to been there!

Very nice Joe. I drew about 15 years ago (after 30 odd years of applying) and I may be able to draw and hunt again before I'm 71, I have 11 points now. I've hunted sheep with someone nearly every year in Wyoming since I was 14. I may get to go this year if all my Dr. stuff comes out ok, I have a friend who has a tag and has not filled it as of Wednesday. I went last year with a good friend even though I had cancer. We had a great hunt on part of the Trail of Tears.

Beautiful year this year to hunt Sheep, maybe a bit too hot.

I still have my horses, including a new one as I haven't given up going just yet.

This time I will pack a lever gun---maybe even the one you sold me. Thanks!

I'm happy for you!

Jon
How are you doing with the Whelen? I wish I could still shoot peep sights. I think a rifle looks cleaner with a peep sight instead of a scope. I seem to be to shoot the red dot sight OK. I have several guns with red dots on them.........Joe

Congratulations! That's a fine trophy and a great thing to see it was taken with a levergun.

Joe, doing good with the 1895, I really like it, thank you. All I've shot so far are some cast gas checked bullets from a Saeco mold that weigh about 235 grains. It shoot nice with those. I'm a bit recoil shy right now and although I want to try some heavier loads out of it, I can't until I'm a bit more healed up.

Wondering if you were hunting west or north of Laramie or somewhere further out in western Wyo?

I shot a lot of cast bullets out of it. It is good you two are getting along. I hunted west of Laramie close to the platte river.
