I came cross a reference to this book while reading about the Winchester 71. I decided i should get a copy and began a search. AbeBooks has been a good place to look for ot of print books in the past. No luck, but they have a "Want List" option. So I put in a book wanted request. I found a copy through my small town Canadian 2nd hand bookstore, The as new copy cost me $70. I thought the price was a bit steep, but it's only money so now I have a copy. I got an email from AbesBooks a few weeks ago advising me they had located a copy.A California bookseller had a copy in used/very good condition which showed signs of minor shelf wear and contains very limited notes and highlighting", price $500 !!! a week later the book had been sold.
So. I'm going to get some white gloves to wear when I read my old gun books and coffee and Biscotti will no longer be allowed in my home office.
Any other gun book/hunting book accumulators here?

Some of the younger guys think my books are old.
Just because I bought them in the 1960's and 70's.

I was floored awhile back when someone pointed out that WWII is as far in our past as the Civil War was in their past.
That last quoted bit from Big Bear sure is the truth!
I keep asking (rhetorically), "How'd I get so old? Seems like I just suddenly went from young-ish to this."
Sweet Tooth, being the darling creature and delicate flower that she is, has been known to reply with something like, "You just haven't died yet, is how. And the other part is that you weren't paying attention. Like usual." At least she has the courtesy to laugh when she says it.
To get back on track, I think that the most I have paid for a gun/hunting book was right around $100, for a former library copy of Al Goerg's handgun hunting book. Although that number is only so low due to a bunch of lucky breaks over the years. I know that I got a bunch of old African hunting classics at what was probably about the low point in interest and price.
