Phil Spangenberger has passed , apparently he had a heart procedure and didn't make it. Only knew him through his writings . RIP

I enjoyed his writing and feel that he did a lot of good work to popularize and renew interest in the old stuff, starting back around the late '70s, near as I recall.
I did meet him once and I will just hypothesize that maybe my run in was while he was having a bad day and refrain from speaking ill of the dead.
RIP. Godspeed, Phil.

First Mike Venturino, now Phil. It's been a bad year for gunwriters.

Condolences
Re: Phil Spangenberger has passed
Sad news... Phil's articles alone, were worth the cover price of any publication that featured him. Condolences to his family and close friends.
People were smarter before the Internet, or imbeciles were harder to notice.

Re: Phil Spangenberger has passed
Aye, he sparked my interest in muzzle loading, along with cowboy action in the early '80s... but it took until 1985 for me to find out -where it was held... some 3 years wasted... I met him 7-8 times... he musta had many bad days.Molasses wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 7:45 amI enjoyed his writing and feel that he did a lot of good work to popularize and renew interest in the old stuff, starting back around the late '70s, near as I recall.
