A picture worth a thousand words!
It is circa 1948. These are some of the founding fathers of the camp that I joined 25 years ago. Lever action guns prevailed.
Enjoy!

1892 carbine vs short rifle
Hi All,
Looking for opinion,
I am looking to purchase a current production Winchester 1892 in 44 Mag. 20"
Carbine or Short Rifle?
Other than the obvious visual differences in forearm and butt stock..........is there other considerations in handling or performance,
Thanks,
Gary

Model 94 clambering issue.. need opinion
Model 94 started to act up. Will not chamber cartridge. Will not lift nose high enough. Have tried different brands and only plastic tip hornady loads. Attached are photos of carrier with wear. Opinions and suggestions appreciated.

1894 winchester serial #'s
I have come across several serial number manufacture dates for Model 94's. Some date my gun as built in 1900 while others have it as 1904. It is 210XXX. Any comments on which site provides the accurate list? TIA Gary

Re: old 94
Thanks Pete. Overall it is really good. Except the Stock has a couple of cracks near the tang and some good gouges on the other side of the stock. I had to replace the forearm band and screw as both were stripped. A lot of oil in the wood from over oiling....got most soaked out an re linseed oiled. ...

Is this Browning/yellowing of the receiver something that can/should be removed? How? Anyone wishing to share their know...
