Re: Rossi M92 hard to eject
Just wanted to post in case anyone else has the same problem. Thanks for updating. All too often, threads are just left 'hanging' and we never find out the solution to the problem posted about... Replaced the loading gate this morning... Where did you finally wind up getting parts from...? Got the ...

Re: Rossi M92 hard to eject
Finally found the problem. Rifle spent 3 months at a local smiths, he was not able to fix the problem. After I got it back, spent time at the range trying to diagnose the problem. Found that if I pushed in on the loading gate about 1/16" it would eject. Replaced the loading gate this morning, t...

Re: New Rossi M92 not ejecting
Couldn't wait until the weekend, had to give it a try. Took just enough off the extractor to where a fingernail hangs on top of extractor groove in bolt when extractor was reinstalled. Ran about 70 cartridges thru the gun and every one ejected like it should. Nate, thanks again for your help and adv...

Re: New Rossi M92 not ejecting
Thanks Nate, I'll give it a try this weekend. By the way, I did the complete tune up per your video and it is a completely different gun now.....smooth as a baby's bottom.

Re: New Rossi M92 not ejecting
Nate,
You are correct, it is the extractor. Checked it again, it's loosing the grip as it ejects. Seems to be grabbing all now, earlier it was leaving some flush with the chamber.

New Rossi M92 not ejecting
Took a new Rossi to our shoot today and had problems with it ejecting shells. Thinned the ejector when I got home per Nates video. Seems to help some but still not ejecting every shell. I have to SLAM it closed to get the ejector to grab the shells but it's not 100%. Any ideas what is causing this?

Re: Hornady Lock N Load AP press.
I've used Lee, RCBS, and Hornady Dies without any problems. The Hornady dies are longer and have more threads for adjustment. With non Hornady, the dies have to be screwed in almost to the point of bottoming out....not a problem, just not as much room for adjustments if needed.

Re: Hornady Lock N Load AP press.
Second part of your question.......I use 3 die set...sizer, expander,& factory crimp, I also use a powder cop. This press is so simple to use, I let my 11 year old grandson load with me when he visits .... haven't had a bad load yet.

Re: Hornady Lock N Load AP press.
You will need a different shellplate for different calibers. Some will fit multiple calibers such as 357 and 38. The base of the cartridge is what you go by for size so a 45 shellplate should work for all 45's. You can find these on ebay sometimes at a lower price, just make sure it's for the L-N-L ...

Re: Hornady Lock N Load AP press.
I've been using the L-N-L AP for about 18 months. Very satisfied with it's operation. I can load abot 300 rnds of 9mm or 38sp per hour. Not trying to load fast, just a steady pace. I did buy the powder measure micrometer insert which is great. Once you set the powder measure it never needs adjusting...

Re: Need Rossi Parts
Thanks for the replys. I ordered the kit yesterday and asked him to send the screw with it. He did not have the screw listed on his sight. I'll know in a couple of weeks if he'll send the screw with the kit.

Does anyone know where I can get the lever pin cover screw for a model 92? I've checked online but I'm not able to find a source.

casting lead and lube
Where do most people get lead for casting bullets? Checked with a local tire shop and they send it to a recycle company. They also said the new wheel weights are steel instead of lead. Also, what lube (Alox???) is good for 38sp cowboy loads? I'm thinking about casting if I can find a cheap source of...

Re: Rossi M92 hard to eject
The lever bolt cover screw is a lot shorter than the one in the pic. Looks like it has been ground down. I bought the gun used so I'm not sure what was done to it. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement screw, I'll try to call Rossi tomorrow to see if I can buy one from them. Thanks for all th...

Re: Rossi M92 hard to eject
It's a tight spot in the lever arc. Feels like cartridge is in a bind until it completely ejected. No scars on spent cartridge. The bolt will open about a 1/2" then lever is hard to open completely to eject.

Rossi M92 hard to eject
My Rossi M92 357/38 is hard to eject after shooting about 5-6 rounds. Works fine for the first few shells but then gets very stiff. My grandaughter is using it for SASS shooting 38's and can not eject the shells after 5-6 shots. I've cleaned the internals and checked for loose screws but have no ide...
