ordered an 1894 cbc 45 colt , received an 1894cb 45 colt , crappy stock fit , glass showing in the tang , fore-end has waves in the top , no D&T for tang sight , marlin website kaput and their phone doesn't answer ... no catalog handy to find out if correct gun exsists and all the online dealers...

another thought , check the inside of the barrelband and the magtube band for roughnes /deforming ...
polish the bands until they have clearence on the barrel/tube when cold...
check that the band screw is straight and unburred as well...

you have to admit that 5 or 6 big chunks of lead staring you in the face can put somewhat of a damper on your enthusiasium... i'm getting a 5.5"ruger NV limited in a couple of weeks and will S-R make a pancake for it ... short of a 'zulu' style attack more firepower shouldn't be a pressing need...
