Re: federal bureau of prisons marked winchester 94?
Also why in 1959 would they issue lever action 30-30's when they have much better surplus(m1 carbine) laying around? You consider the M1 carbine "much better" in what way exactly? A greater rate of fire and a higher magazine capacity perhaps, but with less accuracy. M1 carbine: 110 grains...

Re: Cops need to go back to revolvers
If I understand OP correctly, he advocates placing the combatant at a technological disadvantage with a goal of preventing an exaggerated response to an adrenaline-fueled, life-or-death-decision. This was precisely the thought process that resulted in a magazine cut-off being installed on the Spring...

Re: Any experience with the SIG DAK trigger?
DAK is yet another perfect solution to a nonexistent problem, in my opinion. It's largely a gimmick, borne of lawyers, for the benefit a litigious society. It's certainly not as nice and crisp as the Sig DA/SA. Having said, it's not utterly terrible to shoot, like I would say of the Beretta 92D or s...

You folks might already know this, but I haven't been keeping up for several years: I went to the NRA annual meeting's exhibit hall this weekend and learned that there are currently in production Winchester (US Repeating Arms, I reckon) model 94 in 38-55. Thanks for all the responses. I reckon the one I saw is priced about right, then. I think it was $550 or $600. You could tell it had been fired a few times, but the wear on wood or metal was minimal. I know its a hard to answer a general question, but in general what would ya'll consider to be a fair price for a used model 94 in 38-55? It's one of the modern manufacture ones with 20" barrel. There are no frills, and it has moderate wear, but overall it is pretty clean.
