LilGun is best for top velocity. AA1680 is probably my overall favorite. It's very easy to load, gives velocities only second to LilGun, and is CONSISTENT. Good stuff.

I don't find the stainless very attractive. I also have a real nice blued 1895 made in 1972 so I'll keep my shiny Guide Gun. It's too accurate to part with. Does anybody use the Lee hollow base boolit in the Marlin 45-70's? I would think that for low to moderate loads, it ought to be pretty nice, with the bore sealing quality it should have. I assume it would not be advisable for heavier loads, possibly blowing the skirt off? Or, is it tougher than that...
