Re: Anyone w/ Later Remington Model 12 -willing to do a favor?

WOW you caught me off guard there. Well YES I was asking for something for free. I've done this type of "favor" without ever thinking about it - I suppose it IS very wrong of me to ASSUME the same of others. My bad. Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways. I won't ask any more favors....

Anyone w/ Later Remington Model 12 -willing to do a favor?

I am looking for a bullet guide for a s/n 750,xxx -ish Rem Model 12 .22 pump. Could I get someone to take precise measurements of theirs so I could fabricate one? Never hurts to ask :-) Jacin P.S. I think the one I need is shown at the bottom of the page at this site (#257) http://www.wisnersinc.com...

Re: Anybody a Locksmith?

Teeny Tiny off topic...growing up I was fascinated by locksmiths - (weren't all kids?) anyways years later I had an old safe with an inner door that I needed a key for. I had the mechanism apart and took it to 3 "locksmiths" in our area.... NONE of them could make me a key!!!!! Apparently ...

Re: Firing pin - how long??

Well, here's the finished version - decided it was hard enough to at least try out. Put a spent case and test fired it - looks to be striking the cartridge fine - will know for sure when I fix the other issues.

Fun fun fun.Image

Re: Firing pin - how long??

Thanks for the replies! So ask another question....define "maximum depth"? By that I mean the the firing pin will actually travel about .010" past the surface of the breech block. So do you include that .010" or do you only measure it when it's flush? It seems to me that flush pl...

Firing pin - how long??

Ok I was at the gun show this weekend (diligently looking for a lever mind you) when this orphaned .22 pump followed me home. I didn't give much for it and it appears to have a decent bore so I figured I'd have some fun trying to make some of the missing parts. I have it apart - the firing pin is br...

Re: permanent Metal Marker

McMaster-Carr has the acid pens. They dry out quick so use them as soon as you get them.

Re: Other fun with a BL22

Finally got out to test fire the little Browning BL22 today. Both me and my son shot real well with it and he absolutely loved it!!! Definitely a keeper. Will now make a little effort to clean up the stock (nothing crazy since it's gonna be a shooter). Definitely happy I picked it up and my son is e...

Re: If you have cancer, this can be lifesaving

I work in the medical equipment industry and I tell everyone I know the same thing - most if not all have ignored me, but I will repeat it here hoping it might help someone. I'm no expert, but here's what little I do know. Not all scanners are created equal!!! For the most part the NEWER manufacture...

Re: Other fun with a BL22

Iceman, the chunk I used wasn't big enough for two, but I will be keeping an eye out for any more pieces! Now you got me thinking maybe a brass front sight would be cool too....I hope this doesn't get outta hand!! ;-) You definitely need to make one - it was a fun little project!

Re: Other fun with a BL22

3leggedturtle - next lever to hunt for would be that Win 88 in 243. Doubt I'll ever find it, but I can dream. pwl44m - The original band on mine was aluminum. I made mine out of some scrap brass - not sure of the exact alloy, but I bent it a little in the vise and it didn't crack so I figured it was...

Re: Other fun with a BL22

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody!!! Let's see if I can figure this picture thing out... (well that worked so I'll put them all in) Step 1 - bored 2 holes and then connected them together with a straight cut. Test fit on the gun and was OK so off to the belt sander http://i1067.photobucket.com/a...

Other fun with a BL22

Hi all, Newbie here! I've enjoyed reading your forum & hopefully I'll be able to contribute a little. I've been infatuated with "levers" since I was a little kid gazing at my dad's Win 94 in 32 Special he got used as a teenager. I later lusted after my Grandad's Win M88 in .243 that he...
