I own a Rossi R95 in 30-30 that is quite well built. Fit and finish is flawless. Accuracy is 1.75 - 2 inches at 100 yards with plain Hornady 150 grain Interlock ammo. I bought Weaver scope bases and rings to mount a Simmons scope. Hope this is helpful. TR

I have always thought of Marlin's 444 rifle as the logical replacement to Winchester's 71 in .348. Same profile but the Marlin carries a scope sight quite well. TR

Back in the 1970's Detroit was a very high crime city with daily home invasions and murders. I rented a small house in a "not so nice" part of the city and slept with a double barrel shotgun in my bed. But eventually I left the city for greener pastures. TR

I owned a Savage 24 back in the 1960's that featured a full choke. For me, it was difficult to down running or flying upland game. So I traded for a single barrel 20 gauge with cylinder bore and my success rate climbed. I prefer a wide pattern. TR

Common hollow tip ammo typically average 2.5 inches groups at 100 yards. Not bad for a 44 MAG. But Lever evolution ammo is truly outstanding in my carbine! TR

Here in Florida where I live during most of the year, a short carbine that can stand up to frequent afternoon tropical showers is ideal. We hunt wild pigs year round.

This is my Mossberg model 464 that I have grown quite fond of for its accuracy and handling. 30-30 is a keeper!

.257 MAG will take down a Wyoming speed goat at very long range. But this type of shooting takes all the fun out of planning a stalk and crawling to approach within good shooting distance.
