My Single Ten is quite the shooter also. I think I read somewhere that the hammer forged barrels on these are 1-15 twist. I like this front sight on my Single Six's. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1004313733?pid=187825

Re: OT—“German Steel” knife sets
In this day and age I don't think it means squat. When it did mean something, German Steel = Krupp, Japanese Steel = post WWII electric furnace steel.

What i know about air guns would fit on the head of a pin. U Tube "AAR ON AIR" is good source of info.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 5:16 pm I need to find a relatively light weight medium velocity squirrel killer for backyard use.
My Chinese gun just won’t hold zero and the trigger is just too hard to work with.

I can’t recall the writer who used a contender pistol like this. I don’t think it was Hal Swiggett.
Was it Sam Fadala?

Re: Any love for the.22 Hornet?
Took a couple of 170-180 pound feral pigs with my Ruger #3 and Brian Pearce's Lil Gun & ballistic tip Hornet load. Good for anything a 223 is, just not quite as far out. Care to share? I’ve looked for this load data and haven’t been able to find it. From my notes: 40 gr. Nosler Ballistic tip, N...

Re: 30-30 Trail Boss SUBS
Anybody shooting jacketed subsonics in 30-30 w TB powder. I know we are downloading down past even 300blk energies 300blk is 1:7 for 220gr 30-30 is 1:10 so more like 190gr But for no ears plinking and practice it would be cool. Probly double as a rabbit and grouse load. 30-30 is a big step up in ca...

Re: How many of you keep records of the amount of times you shoot a particular gun?
I remember that Terry Murbach kept meticulous records and I know varmint hunters who keep track of every round. I’ve never done this but I think I know why. I was shooting a brand new Colt SAA today just to see where the sights were compared to the group. I had mixed results. See below. But I think...

Re: Any love for the.22 Hornet?
I’ve never owned one but I grew up reading about the cartridge in a TC Contender pistol and its use on varmints. Now that we are beyond COVID the ammunition seems to be readily available. What’s it good for? Took a couple of 170-180 pound feral pigs with my Ruger #3 and Brian Pearce's Lil Gun &...

Re: USFA Rodeo question
Many years ago (like almost 20 years) I stopped in my LGS just to look around, and there was what I thought was a nice used Colt for sale cheap. Really too cheap, and I wondered what was wrong with it? I asked to look at it and all the markings on the frame were just like a Colt for patent dates, b...

Re: USFA Rodeo question
What I was told: "... for the Rodeo models, any USFA Rodeo beginning with an “A” or “B” was built using some or all Uberti parts." Brian Pearce says all the "E" series were totally USA. Thanks Jim. I found a nice “E” series in .45 Colt. So, my G8xx .38 spec. Rodeo would be all U...

Re: New guy — hog hunting levergun?
Hey all, New to the forum — glad to be here. Been thinking about taking a levergun for hog hunting this season. Looking at .30-30 or maybe .45-70. Any of you run leverguns for hogs? What’s worked best for you? Appreciate any advice. Killed my first pig 65 years ago with a .22 lr. I occasionally hun...
