Black Friday
Black Friday isn’t so bad when one is out in the woods perched up in a tree and not amongst the screaming throng at the d..a..m..n malls ! Been hauling the Chuckster (EH 28” 10 gauge) around with me now as well as a 6.5x54 MS . No sightings so far today which isn’t necissarily a bad thing , as no deer seen no deer shot so no deer to have to mess with after the fact

I’ve got a handful of 10 gauge #4’s and #6’s in my pack for tree rats . Wanna get 4-8 of them at some point for a Brunswick Stew and or a Colonial Game Pie ! https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/main ... avern.html , https://virginialiving.com/food/recipes ... gs-tavern/

Re: Black Friday
I spent Black Friday picking up my deer meat and shooting a little.

Re: Black Friday
Nice fellas !
I spent Black Friday AM securing 2 new Blackhawks which i have detailed in another thread, -- but yesterday was spent shooting
I found myself alone on Thanksgiving as the rest of my family had other plans , so i loaded up and went to the range. I had a few modern aquisitions i needed to sight in but brought along some wheel guns and my TC Encore as well so i could keep it real
First up was a newly acquired PTR-91 (domestic HK 91 ) and a 1990 vintage Colt A2 Sporter --- the A2 was half a minute of pie plate at 100 yards with open sights, so i tucked it back in the case as shooting it any further was just wasting ammo, it was good to go -- i'd guess the group size was roughly 4" . but the front sight post almost completely obliterated the center ring on my sight in target so i was fine with that -- The '91 not so much - mainly because it was wearing a cheap optic and i swear the adjustments did nothing on it --
But shooting the wheel guns was drama free ---
took along a Colt Lawman fixed sight .357, a fairly new S&W 686+ 7 shooter and i put a few rounds downrange with my J frame carry gun to make sure i could still hit things with it occasionally. -- The J frames really do demand putting a couple of cylinder fulls downrange every month though at least, because even with regular .38's and being an earlier all steel model -- it was still a nasty little bugger and my "pattern" at 7 yards was larger than the 10 shots out of the aforementioned A2 at 100 yards -- rounded out the day plinking with a .22 rifle
Was just a great day outside
