Billings Gun Show

Post by vancelw »

Is anyone going to the Gun Show in Billings the weekend after Thanksgiving?
I plan on being there Friday (29th) .
If any Levergunners are there I wouldn't mind shaking hands....

I got too busy and forgot all about the Tulsa Wanenmacher show this weekend.

I got to meet M.M. Wright a couple of times in Tulsa before he passed.
When they had to change the date from October to November it made it hard for me to make the fall show. Usually April is easier for me.

I know there are several Montana folks on here.....
But it is a holiday weekend.

I've been to Billings recently for a lot of things that haven't been fun, so I should probably plan a day to go that is fun. Plus that is a day off for me. Is the gun show generally a pretty big one? I've never been.

If I end up going I'll let you know so we can say hi. I've met Bullard before and I'd probably still recognize him.

I went 2 years ago and it was big enough to be worth going to.
Not as big as the big shows in the DFW area, but also more diverse.

I'll PM my phone number later and if y'all are there, text me so we can shake hands.
I'm planning on Friday but ya never know.

Always was a pretty god show but I haven't been for 10 or 12 years.
The gal who had the pallets of primers set up by the overhead door was usually my first stop.
After than I didn't have much left to spend on other things.
If I make it this year I'll be the one wearing the camo ball cap :D

It isn't much of a show, but I will probably go to find some treasure I don't already have. I also have a half dozen old lever guns I am trying to sell, I may take some over there...

Would love to, but I gotta hit the road back to Texas on Saturday.

I may come up for Crow Days next summer.

Looks like I'm not going to make it Friday.
My nephew was coming with me but he got tied up butchering hogs that took longer than expected.
And I'm 2 hours away.

I've been to some pretty pathetic ones before.
Not sure the Billings show would make the bottom tier.p
If I see just 1 interesting item for sale, I'm usually happy.
Anything beats the DFW metroplex shows that are all a sea of black plastic.

Still better than here in NM. After she was elected to office our far, far left idiot governor decreed that no gun transactions would take place on state property (the state fairgrounds) so the gun shows since then have been small and widespread. Not that they were very attractive even before that.

Well, I took the day to take a hike and look for an elk. No elk, but still a good day out.

Lot's of Christmas Tree hunters out and about that I'm sure were pretty successful.

Also figured the traffic between Belfry and Rockport would have been frustrating----lots of crazy drivers on that stretch, so I decided against heading to Billings.

Also, I'm not big on guns shows, if I would have gone it would have been to meet other forum members. I don't even make many gun shows in Cody and it's close.

I went Saturday and enjoyed walking around.Scored some hard to find 6mm Rem for my son in law. Better than a kick in the head.
