- get a list of your local, state, and federal legislators and other elected officials.
- write monthly (or weekly if you have the time) letters to them very clearly TELLING ('asking' is too polite) them what they are to do/not do.
- keep returning to your hot-button issues and tell them you expect not only a response, but a specific genuine one, and more importantly- ACTION.

My hot-button issues have always been:

Paper Ballots - the machines don't need to be involved AT ALL .
Zero 'gun control' - SPECIFICALLY NO BACKGROUND CHECKS because any excuse to create a 'registry' is illegitimate.
The FairTax - because 'income' tax is ridiculous, complex, and corrupt.
Single-issue Bills - any un-related clauses or portions have to be a SEPARAATELY voted-on item.

I've also written that I think if a legislator even PROPOSES 'gun control' or any kind of 'censorship', he or she should immediately be thrown out of office.

Remind them from the get-go that they are our public SERVANTS, and that 'compromise' is NOT acceptable.

Truly? For delivering us into the hands of a despicable human being? Admittedly, the other choice was far worse, and even less deserving. He sez the "right" things, hasn't acted on all of them... And while I hate listening to his nasal NY whiny voice, his actions have shown a love for this country that no President or any candidate to any any public office has shown since Reagan. His personality is simply grating, and any child of mine that acted out in a like manner, would receive the belt. He's been treated atrociously by his enemies in politics, bullied in the press, and yet, if only a tenth of the claims re: his malfeasance toward women is true, please refer to my 1st sentence.

I'll simply thank God we aren't going to have to have four years of his opponent, but... the mid-term elections are a looming battleground, and frankly, 4 years is not enough time to drain the swamp. And, yes, unless a much better candidate stepped up, I wouldn't vote against him in 2028.

My Grand Pa always said that when the Lord needs a job done he doesn't use perfect people but selects the one perfect for the job. Patton wasn't a real popular person but he certainly had his way of getting the job done.
