77r form

Post by rossim92 »

Anybody here from md besides me? to buy a handgun you first have to fill out a 77r form to get permission to buy a handgun, then once you get that, you have to fill out another form and wait 8 days to get another background check before getting handgun. my question is, is anybody from md submitting a 77r experiencing a longer the normal wait time to get preapproved? I am assuming with the election, everybody trying to buy a gun before nov 5. my wait time was usually five working days, been two weeks now.

Sorry, I have distant ancestors from there, but I live in a free state.

If I want to buy a handgun I pick it out and usually 10 minutes later I'm at the cash register. 20 minutes if the Feds are slow that day. Walk out with it after I pay. :D

Try to buy in NJ!
First you go to local PD, fill out application for purchase permit. It's then sent to state police. If they deem you are ok then they send info to feds. If the Federal ok comes in you go back to local PD to get your purchase permit. Then you have 90 days to buy A pistol. Want to buy multiples- better tell them at the start or you'll wait another 3-4 weeks! Or longer.
Of course this was before NICS, not sure if it's better now or not.
