slide spring

I have a cz pcr in 9mm. very good gun, only problem it comes from factory with a 16lb slide spring.I have trouble racking the slide. Did a little research on cz forum and found a 14lb spring for it. so much smoother and easier. I didn't know this , you can use a lighter spring if you use standard factory loads, rule of thumb is, the heavier the powder charge ( as in + and ++p loads) the heavier the slide spring should be, ( correct me if i'm wrong). I guess if you use a light spring in a++p loads , you wont have enough spring to help put slide back into battery after discharge as it will be more likely to cause the slide to fly back off the rails. ( or something to that effect)

The slide going back into battery will work with a 14lb spring but it will be moving too fast with +p+ to the rear, that's why the 16lb spring.

Another consequence is that the front of the slide will be battered when it hits the stop on the barrel.

The slide hopefully would never come OFF to the rear, even without a spring at all, if the design is good. Not familiar enough with that gun to know, but I'd hate to think that the only thing preventing a slide from embedding in my skull was a spring.

Yeah, people just don't look that good with a slide protruding from their eye socket.
