It's official: I'm a grandpa

Post by Bill in Oregon »

My daughter Ellie delivered little Aiden Jacob Putz, 8 pounds, 9 ounces, late last night in Ames, Iowa! She and her husband Austin are over the moon, and I am wandering around the house laughing and crying and don't care who knows it! 8) :D

I'm thinking of starting him with a Super Wrangler, then moving on up to a Blackhawk, but not before he can tie his shoes.

Congratulations to you all! Your life is about to get more fulfilling than you could imagine.
We have been blessed with 4 grandchildren so far. Watching them grow and become more and more capable is an indescribable feeling. Our oldest grandson is 5. He has a dirt bike, can shoot, and is learning the workings of the internal combustion engine as of late.

God bless you all.

Congrats Bill!

Just think of all the new guns you can now look for "that are for him"...

Don't pick from the options mentioned earlier -- get one of each! And don't forget to add a levergun, a shotgun, and a BP rifle, and...

Awesome news, Bill!

Our little granddaughter will be three next month. I know she's made me think a whole lot differently about how wonderful life can be.

Congratulations!

Thanks fellas. Means a lot. They have three acres north of Ames and two dogs. Currently between horses. He'll grow up knowing all about 4-H, corn and soy futures, pork production, how to watch the weather. His mommy and daddy are both genetics Ph.D.s so he'll get some educating, too. :D

Well, not exactly Bill -- you see, his eyes are closed...

That's a birth condition called "Democratitis" -- but once his heart and brain mature a little, he should outgrow that and open his eyes.

Sadly, much of the population doesn't mature correctly..................

Dang fine job there Bill!

And although I don't think there is any truth to the saying that "grandkids make you younger", at least they don't age you like the kids did.

My kids asked me what I wanted my grandson to call me, I told them I didn’t care as long as he calls me. To us kids , it was nana and grampy, what did you guys and girls call your grandparents ?

Grandmother and "Gammy" -- coined by a cousin born 15 years before me. Both grandfathers were gone by the time I was born.

Gramma and Grampa on one side, and GM and GP on the other side.

My first grand child named me TPa before she was walking, now all the grandkids call me TPa. No mix-ups with that one. :D
