So the concrete is poured, 28 yards total.
We have been doing the interior walls and building the stairs.

I'll take a stall, and prefer my grain fermented and filtered, with a drop of rainwater ... ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

You should try it with limestone water, rain water has too much exhaust fumes in it!Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 6:07 pm I'll take a stall, and prefer my grain fermented and filtered, with a drop of rainwater ...![]()

Today the tanks for rain water showed up !
All new construction over certain square footage requires these tanks to collect rainwater and slowly leach into the ground instead of running off.

Re: OT, post and beam
I dunno what the final cost is going to be but I know the barn kit was north of $150,000! We have been on this since Nov 29th of last year and they keep adding/ changing things on us.

Got some of the paneling up this week!
Waiting for more of the shiplap pine that somehow wasn't shipped with the rest of the kit so we can finish this job.You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: OT, post and beam
I've been back helping my nephew on trimming out his new home the last couple weeks. He's got it all painted inside and out, and I've been finishing out the electrical, and smoke detectors while he and my brother set all the cabinets in every room of the house! It took three big box vans full to deliver all the cabinets as the kitchen, great room, bedrooms, laundry room, bar, etc. all get built in cabinets!
I helped bring all the cabinets in, which took half a day alone for 3 of us and the driver, and then scurried off to do electrical and avoid cabinets after that!

That's a LOT of cabinets!
We started the 2x6 T&G , it's southern yellow pine( same thing as pressure treated but not treated) and it has more twists, turns, warps than the Snake River. Hydraulic jack to get some of it in place!

Re: OT, post and beam
Everything has come to a screeching halt!
Was all set for insulation when owners brought in a guy to do surveillance cameras, he is a week from getting here. Now we are on hold for him and the barn company owes us material that they neglected to ship with the kit. Spent the morning gathering tools and cleaning so we can go do a deck.
The driving rain yesterday revealed a roof leak! We know where it's from, the coupala on the roof! Blowing in through the louvers, running under the steel panels and finding its way through at the pitch change. Gotta figure out how to get into it from the underside and do something to stop it... one of the reasons I hate coupalas!

Finally getting to the end on the barn.
The factory made stall doors arrived last Friday. Not a single peice of paper to explain anything. Lots of figuring but it all seems to work!
