Matador, TX tornado

Post by JK622 »

Well, Matador, TX (SE of Amarillo NE of Lubbock) took a direct hit from a tornado yesterday evening- 4 fatalities others injured- town pretty much wiped out. A good friend's nephew lost his house. Looks like it's gonna be a bad severe weather season this year. Please keep all those affected in your prayers. Thanks.

Aye, will do. We had a bit of hail here yesterday afternoon, and some breezy wind shortly thereafter, nothing but a couple small limbs down.

That storm just grazed us in Sweetwater between 11 and midnight. No tornados, but lots of trees and limbs down. I had to use my chainsaw this morning. The lightning was non-stop.

The one which hit Perryton last week took someone I was slightly acquainted with. She was the widow of Gene Bransgrove. Gene's younger brother Alan was best friends with my older brother Roger through High School. Their Dad was a teacher at the High School in Liberal, KS. Cindy Bransgrove was one of 3 killed. I might have misspelled names.

tough break for Texans. tornadoes are much more scarier than storms at sea, of which we have some experience. prayers up for the survivors and the grieving . . .
