Just a box of ashes

Post by wvfarrier »

Hard to believe that this is all that is left of her.
We lost our 11 year old German Shepherd to cancer om Friday. Its been a rough few days. My kids have never lived in a world that did not include her. I thought I was having a heart attack when she passed.

She never showed a day of sickness....we noticed she had started to breath really fast. Vet did an xray and said 2 months, tops. She last 2 days

Not easy, my deepest sympathy.
I too picked up a box from the vet today, 3 puppies from Parkers litter. It hasn't really hit me yet.

Shepherds are such loves -- and so big. I miss my Benny. He had the best sense of humor.

Daughter has a shepherd. Give him a few more years at most. She will be heartbroken when he passes

Very sorry for your loss. I've always had a harder time losing animals than people and every one seems harder than the last.

That my friend is an awesome tribute.
I lost my Winnie last December, her daughter's Claro and Parker were very confused for about a week. Not just hard on us.

We had a Shepard/Wolf mix for 23 years. Tough to have them that long, and not feel pain when they leave us. We've got a dog now that's not 10 yet, and we think she's getting near the end too.

Deepest sympathies and condolences on your loss. Growing up in the 1960s I was always a fan of "The Littlest Hobo", and "Rin Tin Tin", and not so much "Lassie", so always a fan of German Shepherds, one of the handsomest breeds there is.

For me, the grief of losing a beloved dog is no less than any other family member.
