I've owned it for almost 30 years. Bought it way back then, going in with a bunch of buddies at work. If we bought five we got them for $45 each. Those were the days...

There should be a Finn SA in a box proof mark on that somewhere. The 27s,28s and 39s have gotten crazy expensive.

I had a pile of surplus firearms when they were dirt cheap. Sold off a lot of it when they started to get pricy, but kept the best of them for the most part. Should have kept my HiPower collection though.

I'll have to work on some pictures of that stuff.

The OP has a nice collection there.

I got my son started on his collection of 'Axis and Allies' implements when I gave him a numbers matching, all correct 1940 Luger P08 mfg by Mauser-Werke KG one year for Christmas. It's eagle and swastika marked and in pristine condition.

He also assumed ownership of my Rock River Arsenal Rebuild NPM M1 Carbine with original Marlin Barrel, High Wood GI stock, 15rd Mags, Original GI Cleaning Kit in Canvas Case, Sling, Oiler, Stock Mag Pouch, Muzzle Cover, Leather Wrapped Bayonet & Scabbard.

Since then he's collected most of the rest of the Axis' (Germany, Italy and Japan) pistols and rifles as well as the major Allies (United States, Great Britain, France and Russian) primary pistols and rifles.

It's quite a collection and his finds are generally in stunning condition. For example, his Nambu Type 94 is in like new shape and in better condition than the example in the Cody Museum.

Most of the rifles and carbines have authentic bayonets and their respective scabbards / frogs and most of the pistols have holsters, however, a few are reproduction holsters as he hasn't found what he wants for them yet. All of them are numbers matching as that's his primary focus, to have authentic pieces.

There use to be a WWII collector show in Jefferson County before Covid and he found a number of accessories there as many of the 'more seasoned' fellows (read old) are starting to sell off their items due to age.

As he's always been a lucky guy, a year after I gave him the P08, we were at the show and he was looking over a fellow's table. He saw a number of original P08 mags with their s/ns on them. He happened to notice that one mag had the same s/n as his Luger so he quietly picked it up and bought it from the guy for $45 if I remember correctly.

Turns out that having a s/n matching mag doubles the value of the Luger so his $45 mag purchase netted him a $2,000 increase in value!! Only my son falls into deals like that.

The Springfield Model 1903. I have always had a fondness for .30-06 Springfield cartridge. And my grandfather carried one like it during the Great War.

Sounds right. Good score! Worth a good bit more than when we were buying that stuff for less than a $100! Good shooters too, just watch out for the corrosive stuff. I did a number on my M38 with a box of corrosive ammo that I didn't expect. Ruined it overnight.

The only military arms I have are a MI Garand ('43 Springfield Armory), and a 03-A3 ('42 Remington).
