Vein procedure

Post by piller »

I am walking around right now. Just had a radio frequency ablation in the valves of the vein in my left leg. Feels tight at 4 places in my leg.

A little stiffness and some slight discomfort is happening now. Was having discomfort previously, so nothing much to bother with at the moment. Monday the Hospital will check me with an ultrasound to make sure I am OK, and not developing any clots.

I hope they gave you some oral blood thinners for the time being ... just to be safe.

Be prepared for the next morning. My soreness factor went up after I slept on it. Mine was laser ablation though so yours may behave differently.

Are you going to have to wear compression wraps?

Wearing compression sock that goes up to my hip. I am already on a blood thinner. A bit sore and stiff this morning, but not too bad. I go back on Monday to have an ultrasound check if there is any bloodclot formation. Those needles were big. Pinch nothing! Felt like a a bite from a harvester ant. I don't numb up well from lidocaine.

Yeah, to me that darned Lidocaine is like a wasp sting. It's the worst part of the thing. Pretty silly for a numbing agent to be the source of most of the pain.

Doing well today I hope? Not tightening up? Sounds like moving around is helping you.

Worked yesterday. Had an ultrasound up at U.T. Southwestern hospital in Dallas before work. Even though it is still a bit bruised and tender, the ultrasound showed the blood is flowing properly instead of pooling in that leg. At about 8 hours on my feet, the leg was getting tired. Still better than it was last week.

Hope You are soon 100% ! some of the worst pain I ever felt is when I had surgery on one of my fingers and they numbed it with Lidocaine . .

It all stems from too many years of standing in one spot for 8 to 14 hours per day.
