That's a very, er, vewy unusual blunderbuss. Most have considewably shorter barrels. :lol:

I wonder if anyone has posted the pattern of a blunderbuss with various loadings?

I have seen several photos of that particular individual on the 'net and some of them are noted as "shiff the gunman", carl b. shiffer of north woodstock new hampshire who was a much respected collector and authority on original muzzleloading arms.

But.....below is a bonafide photo of mister shiffer. I don't believe they are the same personage.....

Ray, my first thought was Shiff, from Ned Roberts's classic "Muzzleloading Caplock Rifle."
