Sobering griz assault

Post by Bill in Oregon »

I just ran across this Youtube filmed while a bride and groom were being wed on the shore of a lake in Alaska. As the groom read his vows, a grizzly bear on a far shore chased a young moose to the water's edge and proceeded to maul it to death. It was neither swift nor merciful; the moose utters pitiful strangulating cries while the bear grunts and roars as it rips and tears at the flesh of its prey. Surely this is the sound made by Satan as he devours souls in Hades.

One difference is that the moose eventually was no longer in torment. Otherwise, it was a pretty good analogy as far as I know.

Heck, you can learn all you need to know about mercy in the wild by watching your pet cat with a mouse.

What is interesting is that some folks think people are above exactly the same things.

That's all true... I just hope that in the future that groom doesn't wish he'd changed places with the moose.

that would be pretty disturbing to the ceremony but fascinating nonetheless. Pretty fruitful gig for the photographer.

.
People and constrictor snakes and spiders kill before they eat; seems like most other critters start eating as soon as the prey is too disabled to stop them.

People at least think about cruelty, and most of us try to AVOID it when we hunt. On the other hand, that same ability for abstract thought enables is to invent tortures that are horrible
