Definitely nothing I have the slightest interest in.

BUT, think of it this way. Maybe with that on the market it might save a few classic lever rifles from being sodomized? Kills me to see that. Not that I think I can tell someone else to do with their rifle, but I see an awful lot of Marlins being made over into tacticool junk. Probably only a matter of time before the makers of those types of parts and accessories start churning out plastic stocks and M-lock forends for Winchester 94s too.

One can get into a real nice classic lever rifle, old or new for that kind of coin. That's flirting with vintage model 71 prices or on the other end a brand new Winchester 1886 Deluxe. Perspective......

I like 'practical' and that mustn't be confused with 'tactical', but I only see this as 'practical' if one lives in one of the police-state places where a semiauto carbine in 9mm isn't an option.

Otherwise once you get above the bulk of a 1911 pistol there is no reason not to up the ammo to 45 ACP or 10mm, since you're in the size range where the pressure and recoil can be dealt with via heavier and bulkier mechanisms.

Now a levergun is NOT superior to a semiauto for self defense type situations unless you have unreliable ammo or need a silent action to combine with a suppressor, because a proper semiauto is faster and easier to run. So if given the options of anything mechanically possible, I'm going to pick a semiauto if I have reliable ammo and the need is potentially against multiple two-legged aggressors, unless the bulk of the semiauto exceeds what I want to deal with. So....for 'practical but tactical' (protection against two-legs)...

Up to the size of a small pistol - I'll take a semiauto 9mm
Up to the size of a big pistol - I'll take a 45 ACP
Uto the size of a huge pistol - I'll take a 300 Blackout
Up to the size of a carbine - I'll take a 223/5.56 NATO
Up to the size of a rifle - I'll take a 308/7.62 NATO

If it's for hunting or a more 'ranch' use, I'm fine with a levergun, and even if there might be a two-legged intruder, in my life 99.9% of the bumps in the night are 4-leggers, so my go-to to grab will usually NOT be a semiauto, because I am more interested in reliability and power than volume of fire. Plus....I like the aesthetics of leverguns, however silly a reason that may be.

So in that setting...

Up to the size of a small pistol - I'll take a 38 Special SP101
Up to the size of a big pistol - I'll take a 45 Colt 4" Redhawk
Uto the size of a huge pistol - I'll take 44 Mag 7-1/2" Redhawk
Up to the size of a carbine - I'll take a 45 Colt Model 92
Up to the size of a rifle - I'll take a 500 S&W BHA 89

The latter slate can deal with anything that goes bump in the night from the usual possum in the hen house, up to the size of a Cape Buffalo or Grizzly, and would likely deal well with any two-legged situation, since I don't partake of the world of drug gangs, and don't live in a big city. (There is also a role for a 22 LR or shotgun, once I've checked things out; quieter way to deal with a raccoon or feral cat or whatever with less collateral damage and risk.)

However, if I did fret that a whole pack of two-legged gangbangers were going to show up, yes I'd switch to a semiauto, but I'd go way above 9mm if I had a firearm bulkier than a 1911. So the only place for ME for a 9mm levergun would be if I lived in a terrible place and it were the only legal option....or as a range-toy...

...and I like range toys...(bought way too many over the years). So on that grounds I'd almost get one, if I had $2,000 I had no better use for. (That's almost what my 500 S&W BHA 89 cost, and it's a 'real levergun'...) I could care less if a range-toy 'looks funny' - most new things do - as long as it is reliable and fun to shoot, which this one may well be (9mm is light recoiling and fun from a long-gun, think modern 32-20 ballistics, and the short round ought to be easy to make feed reliably). I've got plenty of pretty guns to counteract an 'ugly gun', so that wouldn't be a deal-breaker.

I hope some folks buy these though, just to keep folks out there interested in 'guns' in general.

Kinda hard to fit that in a saddle scabbard unless it had a 10rd mag. Then again, maybe even that is kinda pushing it, better make it a FIVE round mag.
