Add insult to my recent sad day!

Late last week I noticed Claro was not acting herself. She wasn't eating normally, acting down in the dumps.
Saturday morning she was ready and raring to hunt so I didn't think much of it. Sunday morning she was still not herself.
Monday morning I called the vet and got her in.
Yup, exactly what I thought- pyometra, uterus infection.
So this morning she was in to be spayed
Now I have a very unhappy puddydawg!
14 days recouping, I dont want to tell her she can't hunt for 2 weeks... anyone want to break the news to her for me?

Maybe there is something else she likes that you can do with or for her during the recoup.
Maybe some nice steaks for every meal. Some prime rib maybe?

I bet the not hunting upsets her more than the surgery, I once had a Labrador that went absolutely nuts whenever I just put the key in the gun cabinet and she could only hear it as the gun cabinet was upstairs and she was down stairs.

Labs are tough, but it it hard to keep them still when they want to go. Mine would run for the back door any time she saw me putting my boots on.

Feeling much better this afternoon. 2 different pain meds this morning plus I gave her a cbd gummy before I left for work.
She refused food last night, ate a little this morning. Im thinking she will eat good tonight. Not eating is what concerns me most as Claro loves food almost as much as birds.
Still hasn't pelosied...

Oh and the vet called me today, had to go pick up Winnie... back to SAD.

To me that's almost as hard as the "Last Ride" to the vet. I have three of them on the shelf next to me. A Lab, Dane mix and my Dane Lucy. I think about them every day.
