Pictures from a '66 WY Antelope hunt/ more pics in OP.
In with the thousands of slides my parents had was a box that were taken by my grandfather. There's more out there that I need to track down.
My dad trying to look cool with his Woodsman stuck in his belt.
I found some more last night.
They headed out to Medicine Bow the next day and looks like they had a really great time!
Love the Jeep!
My grandfather with his Model 70, .250-3000. My dad gave me that rifle for my birthday last year. It still makes tiny little groups.
My dad on the left, cousin johnny, granpa, and not sure about the other guy. My uncle took the picture.
There's more, but these are the most interesting so far ( at least to me)
I'll keep at it if you guys want to see more. I've always loved old hunting pictures.

Just heard back from my dad, he's on the Snowbird Trail to FL.
He said it was a little town called Rock River, WY. Said he remembered about three streets, and looking at the map online it doesn't seem to have gotten much bigger.

I remember visiting friends in Rock River somewhere about that time frame
The guy had a surplus GI Jeep that I thought was so cool, even and such a young age.
Those little towns that haven't changed much are the best ones.

Nice pictures and memories. I spent plenty of time beating the hills in Wyoming in a Willy's, so your pictures bring back some good memories for me.
Rock River and Medicine Bow were a lot more vibrant in 1966 than now. When they built I-80 in 1970 it took Rock River and Medicine Bow off of the main route. When I was in college in Laramie I would normally drive home (SW Wyoming) through Rock River because I-80 is a terrible stretch of road between Rawlins and Laramie in the winter. The Snow Chi Minh Trail. I attached an article for those interested.
Rock River has a Game and Fish hatchery, so that helps keep it going to some extent. The rest around there is agricultural related, plus maybe some folks who work on the wind farm. Not much happening in Rock River these days, but they do have some good bench rest shoots.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I've used a 250 on antelope a few times, but mine is nowhere near as neat as yours.

Hope one of the articles posted, I tried twice.
