A little late, but introducing myself.
Just wanted to make a thread introducing myself even though I sort of put the cart before the horse and jumped into other topics first.
I live in rural NYS and have been into shooting and hunting since I was a kid. I'm a fan of the classics, particularly lever rifles. I've been bitten bad by the lever rifle big these last few years. I personally own six, my wife has one (Henry Big Boy 45 Colt) and each of my kids have one, both pre-64 Winny 94s one in 30-30 and the other in 32Spl.
Just now I snapped a couple halfway descent outdoor pics of my three favorites that I have.
One is a USRA New Haven stamped Miroku Winchester 1886 Takedown that I had Turnbull work over. It's chambered in 45-90WCF. It's the pride and joy of my modest little collection.
Next is a Uberti 1876 Centennial in 45-60WCF. I picked it up second hand from the original owner last December. I've really enjoyed that rifle.
Last (for now) is my Henry brass side gate 45-70. I love and respect Henry a great deal as a company and this little rifle to me represents about the best bang for your buck in a new lever rifle for quality and aesthetics. It's also an amazingly accurate rifle with my handloaded of the Hornady 325gr FTX driven by AA1680 powder. Not saying I can do my part every day, but I managed to stack three rounds close enough to each other to make one big hole. Range was 100yds, shooting from a bench with sandbags for a rest and the factory sights. I'll share that pic too.
My other three rifles are Winchester 94s. One is a pre-64 in 32spl my grandad bought new in 1954. The other is a 94 Big Bore 375 made in around 1980. And the last is a late New Haven tang safety Trapper in 45 Colt. I have other stuff but these lever rifles have become my favorites.

The 94 Big Bore is chambered in 375 Winchester.
I don't know why the pic of it and a couple others came out sideways. They are upright in my library..
Wanted to add, my name is Joe. I go by the same screen name on other forums as well.

Re: A little late, but introducing myself.
Joe, I have seen your posts on other forums. I have a 375 just like it and I need to get it out and shoot it.
Do you like that lace on recoil pad? I just bought one off of Amazon similar to that that I have installed on my Browning 1886 SRC, but have not shot it yet.

Well, the butt sleeves I have are made custom by a fellow near where I live. I don't leave it on year round, just during hunting season. I'm not one who takes a whole box of ammo in the woods with me. The sleeve makes it handy and I like the looks.JBowen wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 5:38 pm Joe, I have seen your posts on other forums. Yes indeed! Searching various lever rifle related subjects over the years has come up with a lot of hits to this forum. It's been very helpful to me many times in the past. I was long overdue to join up.
