Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Dang! Things like that used to be a basis for a movie……now it’s everyday. I’m a firm believer in genetics….theres good genes and bad genes and this influx of trash are bad genes. What a worthless F, killing his wife and kid….good that he got smoked.
That piece of living trash that killed the young girl who was studying to be a nurse wants all kinds of evidence to be stricken.zero remorse, he just wants to go free. You and I should feel fortunate that this trash is more than a short drive away from us…..for now…..In Colorado Venezuelan gangs have taken over entire apartment complexes……
Hey! You’re at work! F.em and get some rest.—-00

Hellllooooo!
Where'd everybody go? I had to sleep all day. Don't tell me you guys did too?
Big fire in town yesterday. Kind of a shame as it was the mansion of a former governor. Abner Coburn was the governor during the Civil War. He was from town and built this big home that looked like an old southern mansion with the big columns and all. Talk about look out of place.
Of course, it never did in my lifetime. Matter of fact, you wouldn't even notice it. It sat right up on Maiin St. hill too. But the yard was all overgrown to the point you could barely see the house. The house hadn't been touched in decades, and was tied up in some kind of family or legal fiasco. I'd heard the inside was full of antiques and that it was pretty much all original with appointments you couldn't get for any money today.
Finally, in the last month or so, they cut back the overgrowth and were cleaning out the outbuildings and selling stuff. They were starting to do some work on it and save the place. Then.......
I don't know if they saved it or not. Or if they did, how much. It's across town so I'll have to go see. What a shame. Who knows if it's an accident or not, but if the antiques were removed, it's pretty clear.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Nope. I've never been in that place. Or in the dooryard.
It sits up and overlooks the island, bridges, and both dams. There are other historic places on that hill, but not like that one. I guess it just burned mostly the attic. Glad they saved it.
Way back, the Southside of the river was a different town. It was later incorporated into one, but I can't remember when that was off the top of my head. I say "way back", but it's nothing compared to the age if stuff down your way. It was settled a lot earlier. Down on the coast was settled fairly early. They say the first ship build in America was made in Maine. They came from far and wide for the timber.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
The Battle of the Brandywine was fought a few miles down the road…most people then were loyal to the crown and the old time old money people around here are still hard English….I despise most of them……500 acre farms where no farming is being done. The next time you make it this way I’ll give you a tour.
Hey! Me and mom are laughing like crazy…there’s this guy on You Tube who does “faces of the forgotten”….really interesting stuff with graveyards and the stories behind certain people. One guy was digging up freshly buried women and cutting off their private parts and making belts and masks out of their “skin”. Yea, people like this actually exist..or existed….you should see the belt he made…..oh man, the way this guy tells a story is entertainment at its best….the locals at the time, in the 50’s burned down his house……you know, like Frankenstein with the torches, pitch forks, and all. This S really makes me feel normal…..
Look at this…you probably won’t …:D…. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Gein.
Well, your at work…you got 5 days off…enjoy them.—-006

Oh I'll check it out when I'm home. I can't hear it here. Takes quite a bit to turn my stomach, but that's pretty messed up haha.
Just 3 hours left. I got a pile of stuff to do this week but the weather is supposed to be good.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
The weather reports from the 1960’s were better than today….remember when the weather people would have a board of some sort with magnetic suns, moons, rain, etc. and move them around…….this year has been the worst. On Friday, it was forecast to rain all day today…a washout and I cut the grass according to the forecast.
Don’t know what happened but it’s bright sunshine out there with no rain due…..
Stop whining about your job…you worked 24 hours and got paid for 40……THATS the way to do it!

Haha yeah.... but to me, I've worked there for almost 37 years and don't earn as good a living as I did when I went there in 88.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Well Jayster…..I started at $3.35 an hour in ‘73. One time, with lots of overtime, I grossed 300+ and went driving around to show my buddies. At the time rent on our tiny apartment was $110 a month and $40 would buy a family a week’s groceries.
But yea pal, I agree, I bought more. Only reason why I’m living high on the hog now is I owe nobody nuttin…nuttin…groceries, utilities, real estate taxes and insurance….but I’m old now and don’t enjoy it like I used to.
So dang humid here I’m sweating doing nuttin’…..passing gas on the dogs was my highlight of the day. Exciting ain’t it?

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I hear you bro. When I went there in 88, I made 10.33 an hour with a 10% night shift bonus. It was 3x what minimum wage was. I make a lot more now, but it ain't 3x minimum wage.
Luckily, I live small. I own my stuff. I don't need a lot to be happy. I'll be set. Secret of life buddy.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yea…that was well put…we would get somewhere around .50 an hour raise per year and when I retired at 23 per hour it was twice the minimum wage. Back in the 70’s-80’s the workers were somewhat smart with 10% being ….you know…..when I retired it was 50% ..you know. Those idiots would sign a contract for .40 an hour increase with a $500 bonus….i raised hell at the union hall saying the $500 was a drop in the bucket and didn’t stay with you year after year but “they” never had $500 all at once which was given in a separate check which “they” immediately cashed and went on an 8 ball frenzy of coke……I think I told you this before……
And THATS where the term “n rich” came from… oooo man, I gots da loot and I’s gonna hit da bar and show my brothers all of these tens and twenties and buys shots for all ma bro’s. Dens I gonna git in my Caddy witch i’s bought wit $50 down ant da rests in a 10 year loan wit 20% interest…….dens I woke every weekend ant I’m mad ‘cause “da man” tooks ma money. all ma’s bro,s ant sista’s comes to ma crib where’s we’s make babies while ma common law is woken’ at da stow ant dat bit#+ makin’ babies wit da janitor.

Yup. Same with us. They give "payouts". Bunch if fkn idiots. There's no hope bro. Keep your poop wired tight. You know what's important, just like I do.
I'm just counting my time. I'm not real worried, maybe I should be, but I ain't. I've gotten by on pure meanness and hick logic so far......what could go wrong?

Tomorrow is here! …..and it’s all sunshine with a tad over 70 and 62% humidity……the perfect day for not answering the phone or turning on the TV………it’s time for the Semi Mighty Kubota to hit the front yard…….1/2 hour at most……a powerful zero turn cuts the time in half vs any tractor with slow moving blades……not those Chinese 1 and 1/2 h.p. ones at Home Depot for $499.95….but the mighty Kubota………
Thought for today…….how come celebrities who make millions for doing nothing can have nice stuff and people oogle and gush over them but when a working man gets something nice and shows it off, he’s accused of bragging?~~~~~~~~~~~~~006…….and 21/32nds.

I suppose a lot of dummies aspire to being a celebrity whereas they are jealous of their peers appearing to do better...
I turned 76 over the weekend but got some squirrel hunting in, my son and I took the shotguns to a different bit of woodland and had some fun. My weed burner turned up and seems to work well just waiting for the wind to drop so I can get on with it.
Crime over here is on the rise but the socialist prime minister won't let us talk about, he has released thousands of prisoners to make room for the folks who thought they had free speech and have been arrested and charged...

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Crazy times.
I was up to camp today. Out on the road frontage putting up new posters. Beautiful day. 60 degrees, clear air, clear skies. Went back to camp and split up some wood. Then walked down behind camp and scoped out one of my trails. Came back to camp and sat outside for awhile.
Think tomorrow I'm gonna run back up and check my trails and stands. Have a look around. Hunting season is coming......
Like to get in a ride with the trail bike this week too. Love this weather. Supposed to be like this all week.

That figures. Golf.....
I probably get 6 miles a gallon. I'm definitely not a hybrid. Probably more like a big block with dual 4 barrels.

That what my old Ford pick up got……6-8 and 10 on the trip…for real…big block 360 and I cammed it out along a 650 4 bbl.Holly……5,000 lbs of steel got up and flew…….back in those days gas was about a $1 a gallon…..

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Had a visit from the police today, security check on my gun safe, I was surprised when he showed me a list of every gun I had bought since they had a national data base, it was over two pages long.. I asked for a copy but he said no. I think he was satisfied that I wasn't a security risk and I will have my licence renewed but how things have changed since I first owned a gun 63 years ago...

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I've never owned a big block. Always small blocks. I dont know why? Just worked out that way I guess. Always liked the Mopar 360 in a truck. Matter of fact, thay the only V8 we have left. There's one in the old 3/4 ton Dodge.
That sucks GK. Sorry buddy. Knowing myself, I know I wouldn't do well with that, and my mouth would get me in trouble. I think that's the hardest part of getting older (at least for me). Always thinking about what things USED to be like. Seeing every day how the quality of life has degraded.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I owned a '76 Ford F-150 with a 460 for 6 or 7 years. I loved it....it would pass about everything but a gas station. It's understandable why it had 2 gas tanks. Yeah, that was back in the days when gas was pretty cheap. I'm quite pleased that I no longer own it, though.
GK, having the realization that someone is watching you and your guns all the time is unnerving. I would have a problem with that too.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Apathy amongst some gun owners in the UK hasn't helped and being a minority we should at least be all singing from the same hymn book. At the start of the 20th century we had almost no gun laws but slowly slowly the successive government's have tightened the screw and I fear it will soon get even worse..
I sure wish I could have kept that list of guns I once owned, the police guy who came out was impressed but glad I didn't still have that many to check or he would still be here now if I had.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Dang GK…..”making sure you’re not a threat”………but letting a million Muslims with the brains of a rat with everyone of them with a chip on their shoulders against Christians is OK. These progressives live in la la land……we are repeating Rome’s mistakes.
The old Ford 360 was known as the Cleveland and then the modified…..it had huge heads on it and while I never had the pan off I’m sure it was four bolt mains……I also put an aluminum high rise intake manifold and performance lifters on it and opened up the exhaust….not headers but near an open pipe 1 foot past the cab.
Those engines in those days were gutless starting around ‘72…low compression pistons and cams that were near solid round. That 6 cylinder overhead cam with a factory 4 bbl. carb I had on the ‘68 firebird would eat up any post factory ‘71 small block Chevy. It is amazing what they do today …..back in the day if you had a 12 second street machine you were doing something….today, with the right tires you can break 10 seconds right off the showroom floor using 1/2 the fuel.
Me and mom both had matching ‘78 Trans Ams (except for color) with 400’s in them….no real power…wrecked mine and sold hers….

Cool! My dad had one of those Pontiac 6s too! It was in a 67 LeMans Sprint. It was an awesome car. Swapped it for a 70 LeMans with the big block 350.
Yeah, the post 71 EPA engines were all turds. Good ole

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
THATS IT!,, the beans….Mom said English people always have beans with their breakfast…..how an Italian knows that is beyond my thinking……I bet the conference rooms and offices are singing “God Save The Queen” by about 10 a.m.
THATS IT!!…Jay….the “Sprint 6”. There was also a standard 2 bbl. version at 180 h.p. which most of the cars had, if they had the overhead cam 6…….IIRC, the Sprint 6 had 220 h.p. When I rebuilt the engine it was hell trying to find 10.5-1 pistons and the lash adjusters I found were the last remaining in stock OEM……That engine was designed by John Delorean and it had a fatal flaw…..it would eat up cams.
I did have a near complete extra engine that I used for parts sometimes……After I gave the car away I scrapped the engine at the junkyard. It was a nice car, nice interior and body…it had 60 some thou. miles on it.
It was the insurance companies that put pressure on government to end to high output engines and of course, college professors who wanted less gas to be used….at least that was the talk back in the day.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yup. They got around the insurance companies to some degree by underrating the HP numbers in the later muscle car era. I think this was especially done with the Chrysler 440 6-pack and the GM LS6 454. I'm sure Ford did the same with the Boss series too, especially the big blocks.
I ran to camp and cleared all my trails today. Dad went to Sam's with my mom, so I headed up alone with the chainsaw, gas, and my K-frame .357.
Pains me to say, but I can get way more work done if I go alone. Dad is 83, and while he does great, I spend a lot of time keeping an eye out and going at a slow pace with a lot of breaks. He won't say anything, so I have to be careful.
What a job! I hadn't gone a 100 yards on the first trail and had to refuel the saw. I managed to pinch it once in a huge spruce that was down, so I had to walk back to the truck for my axe and wedges. I probably walked 5 miles with that saw and lost count how many trees I cut out of the way. I brought 2 bottles of water but it wasn't enough. I downed some more back at camp when I finished. I was soaked in sweat, ripped my shirt, and was exhausted.
But I finished them all. One more thing off the list.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
You had a complete day and a job well done…you will sleep well tonight…so get your Jammies on because you have a biiiig day ahead of you tomorrow, changing oil in your Gladiator and you need to fix a roof shingle on the garage…….me, on the other hand have nothing to do but play……for me, work is play…I love getting all dirty and sweaty and watching the sweat roll down my muscled arms thanking the Lord he never made me a P office worker…..
You always get more work done by yourself……there’s nothing else to distract you…..it’s why I like cutting grass when it don’t need it…just cruising along, my thoughts to myself, no “I need this or that”….no phone…(I don’t answer that anyway), you get it. Both of us are lone wolves preferring our own company…I definitely am.

Cool truck buddy! Wish they still made em like that. I'd love about a 77 K20 once I ain't driving to work anymore.
This was my "last one" I had it 22 years.

Not mine but same make and model that I had, not big and beefy like American trucks but probably better suited to our narrow roads.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
After selling his 72 Chevy C-10 my son bought an 86 K-10. A previous owner had swapped a 2002 LS engine into it and had given up on it due to the enormous effort needed to change everything over to an engine management computer required by the newer engine. This truck has 37" tires and unfortunately, 308:1 diffs so it's pretty doggy. He just obtained a 3/4 ton rear axle with 410:1 gears so he still needs to find a compatible front diff, new wheels and tires. He has made impressive progress with it and spent a bunch of money upgrading everything from digital instrument panel to new exhaust system, shocks, steering box, air conditioning, radiator and electric fans. I hope he never gets done with it. It's good for his disposition.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yea Walt…..once you start sinking money into something it forces you to keep going…….at least it does with me.
Dodge trucks never did much around here…always Ford….and upstate it was always Chevy……that sure looks clean and mighty….The biggest problem with any vehicle from the sixties, seventies and most of the eighties was the steel they used……5 years old and they started rusting……that old Ford of mine started doing that behind the cab and above the wheel wells.
I saw one of those trucks that GK posted but it was a different brand…….

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yeah, cars and trucks from the rust belt sure don't last long. The Southwest is so dry though, that rust is never an issue for vehicles that have spent their lives here. Most trucks from the 40s and 50s here have only surface rust if any at all. My son's Chevy still has its original paint and no rust at all.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yup. I'd like to take a run out there when I retire and get me a 70s K20.
My son had a nice 85 K10 SB when he was in in Kodiak the first time. It was a California truck. Now he's got an 85 K30 454, also from California. No rust cause Kodiak don't salt the roads. The 80s K30s are nice, cause they have all 70s truck running gear. TH400 or SM455, NP205, and a kingpin Dana 60 front axle with a corporate 14 rear full floater. Good stuff.

I see it Walt. It you have to admit the sun is hell on the paint, interior and anything rubber wherever the sun shines…….i personally think the sun is more damaging than moisture……I do my best to keep my machines out of the sun…..his looks like a Z421
But what I noticed MORE is your son also has a mighty Kubota Z!!!!!!!…….what model, if you know, does he have? Mine are the Z422, Z726 and the mighty B3350….

It’s just a personal opinion, but cars from the 60’s and 70’s and most of the 80’s are shabby…..especially the mid 60’s-mid 70’s.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Yeah I agree. Those old cars really rattled out pretty fast. Paint wasn't the greatest, and neither was the build quality. But the 60s and up till the early 70s cars were cool as all get out.
And I'll freely admit, that a lot if the early "malaise era" cars from the mid to late 70s I really liked the looks of. Of course, they were pretty nutless, but everything was in those years.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
I remember that in order to lighten their trucks and thus improve gas mileage, Ford cut big holes in the frames of their pickups in the early 80s. That was a bad joke. I don't know whether other manufacturers did that or not.

THATS dangerous……while I still do that it’s on oak, cherry, hickory, etc…..that tree he is on is willow and growing in a hot climate it’s probably as brittle as the receiver on a Rossi. I’m surprised willow even grows out there as it has a huge appetite for water. See you caught the branch in mid air.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Fred,
The quality of Rossi receivers changes with the day….you got lucky with yours …..BUT…you don’t have 4 or 5 thousand out of it like I do on many of my shooter Winchesters, Colts, Marlins, Smiths, and Rugers. I don’t own any other brands except a couple of old Remingtons, 2 SKS’s and the BAR along with some military long guns. Heck, I ain’t pulled the trigger on anything for 2 weeks and that was only a couple of rounds.
On a funny note, me and mom were watching these You Tube videos on feral people and more real life stories on Appalachia. Those feral people are like the ones on that movie, “The Hills Have Eyes”. ….all inbred with deformities…..if we asked Jay about feral people he would probably say some of them are his neighbors down in Cornville……I know some locals who aren’t far from it. Heck, I ain’t far from it.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
You must mean 6 fingered Clarence. He's right on 150 just before the Athens town line.
There's definitely some rough spots here, with some pretty rough people. I went to school with a bunch of them. You don't really notice when it's how it's always been and all you know. When you're older, and think about it, you can see it more. Some of it is the times. There was way less communication and information years ago. It was more of a closed society back then. Even the way people talk is different now. Things have changed a lot. West Athens of 2024 isn't what it was in 1974 (not that many still wouldn't be shocked), But I'm not convinced that's a good thing. Like everywhere, it was much better back then. Everyone minded their own business, and kept out of everyone else's (if they knew what was good for them).

When I lived on the Welsh border there were a few villages where everyone had a "similar" look very noticeable when you walked into a strange pub..

These are the only ones I have with that many through them.
My two Rossis, 45 Colt and .357 Mag are both excellent, tight chambers, feed well.
Have never even seen a Win 92.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
“6 fingered Clarence?” Oh man, could I have fun with that guy! Yea, I was the kid in class who laughed at the stutterers…. I have heard of a “two peckered Pete” from upstate and his sister, “3 titted Tammy”.
On a serious note, I believe most people are feral and it takes civilization to make them normal but some never grow out of it….just look in the cities……the old saying in the Philippines amongst U.S. servicemen during the war around 1900 was “civilize them with a Krag”. We civilized people just use deception instead of violence….at least that’s what most people used on me….
You have to wonder about what people did with crazy people when we were still hunters and gatherers. Guess they just killed them. I read that in the American Indian tribes that if you killed, stole, or beat another Indian member from the same tribe that the offender and his family had to give up personal property such as horses or wampum of some sort.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
Six, my son's Kubota is a Z252KW-54. He only has a couple of acres to mow so he did not get one of the high dollar diesel models like his neighbor thought he should have. He has a low spot in his yard that stays pretty muddy and he's had the mower stuck a couple of times. There are thousands of frogs on his property, I can't imagine how many he kills on any given mowing day.
Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect
So it isn't just here?
I've seen more frogs this year than I can remember seeing since I was a kid.
If I had a lot to mow, maybe I'd want one of those mowers. Seems like everyone has them. I can see the guys with businesses, cause it's all about speed. They mow my neighbors and it sounds like you're in a B-17 if you're within a quarter mile. I can't imagine listening to that all day.
I'm gonna keep my old JD 240.
"Civilize em with a Krag"
I remember seeing that somewhere years ago. Now all thise jungle people are more civilized than half the population of this country. That's ok, we can civilize them too. And it won't be with a Krag.
