I only have 1 model 61. It's in nice shape and a good shooter. Haven't fired it in forever.
Man! It is some windy today. No fun. I did see one going into the stand this morning. Probably that same doe I saw the other day.

OK, we are tied for 1st place as we boff :D have model 61's.......windy crazy here too.....well, I do have something to report....

Went up to vote and I made a spectacle of myself.......there were pole watchers and signatures were being double checked by 3 different people........I had to laugh telling one guy....and loud enough for everyone to hear......"wow" you guys are doing great with the extra checking, but this is the wrong precinct to be doing this as you should be up in Philly where one precinct had 7,000 votes during the Obama election and all 7,000 were for Obama and no one can tell me one of those dumb s.o.bees didn't pull the wrong lever"! :D A few laughed and a few scorned.....tough S and F you too I muttered........----006

Ya know Jay....so do I....on the rigged system.......we've been watching Fox all night and I can't believe what is going on...total retarts like Gov. Whitmer from Michigan is waaaaaayyyy ahead, even after locking down the whole state......here in Pa, the stupidest retart in the history of the world (Fetterman) is ahead in our senate race. Who in their right F mind would vote in a stupid retart who wants open borders, releasing murderers, allowing drugs, wants to cut out fossil fuels (in a state that has a huge fossil fuel industry) ...had a stroke, has a bad heart and is stupid as a rock............like...WTF???!!!! Fetterman getting in would be the same thing as a beat up Rossi 38 spl. '92 beating a 99% original 1886 Winchester in 50-100-450 in the "class and value" race!!!!

Yea bud, we voted too. Two years ago I said I was done but we changed our mind. If I get up tomorrow and not much has changed, I'm joining Barbara Streisand and moving to France.......or maybe to your hunting camp.... :D Trey Gowdy said it right tonight.....he said we are in bad shape if we don't win after all of this inflation, borders, drugs, murders, gas prices etc. Got my statement yesterday...in addition to the 20K I lost last summer, I lost another 5K in the last quarter......in addition to losing the money, I have lost another 10% in buying power....Glad I got my Winchesters and Colts!!!!!

Yea 45....defies logic........especially Fetterman and Hochul..........here's the problem....you and I are old school and my hypothesis is that our way of thinking is outdated..........nothing is supposed to make sense anymore........common sense is the past.........people have too much today and they are only interested in their own pleasures instead of what's good for everyone so we can pursue our dreams the way they have always been accomplished, by grit, determination, and perseverance.---006

I'm mentally sick today.......I'm going outside and take my frustrations out on a pile of hickory by the garage.

Might check with Maloney, Demmings, Ryan, and in Arizona and Rubio, our guy Garcia on what has gone on. Ohio and Fla in the importance in 2024.

I know the popular company line here but if that is true .., what are the big managers running now.

Yea.....you "toad" me. (Ebonics)....I have that same disgusted feeling I had after Trump lost in 2020. I'm starting to agree with you that voting doesn't matter and the direction of this once great nation IS written in stone......and that direction is not in our favor. You and I live in the last 2 decent states in the northeast and we both are teetering on the edge to leftist destruction.

"Whitey" is reproducing at 1.8 per couple while darky is reproducing at 2 million per multiple couples......and the quality of the offspring is also not in our favor.

Well, the only thing I can do is to bury myself out in the woodpile and get to splitting wood while the rest of the country gears up for $5 heating oil......it cost my SIL $1,000 for 200 gallons of heating oil which may last her a month if she stretches it. She has to skin and butcher a lot of deer for that $1,000.-------006

Get ready for 5 bucks a gallon? It's coming up on 6 here now.

Its like I've said before. It's a communist / socialist country that tries to pretend it isn't.
People don't want to be free. They just want freeeeee. And safety, and guarantees. And big brother is more than happy to oblige. Just sign your soul over right here.
And remember, just cause Republicans lose an election, they still enjoy all that power that's gained and reap all the benefits. The problem is People are so stupid they think one party or the other is going to solve the problem. Nope. They are the problem.
It's over.

But like always, everyone will jump right up "We'll get em next time!"

Unbelievable.

Keep your poop wired tight and devolp contingencies, I say.
While I'm typing this, I'm up behind the trailer on high ground looking for a water source I can gravity feed.
That is time WAY better spent than voting these days.

Like me, you paint a dim picture......but.....it's right. I like that, "we'll get em next time"! I just saw on our local news how a democratic woman who's running for the 7th district (mine) got wwwaaaaaaaaayyyyy more votes than Fetterman who's running for u.s. senate......that means loooooooooottts of people split the ticket which is highly unusual, considering 85% of the people can't even read.......

Old Savage toad (Ebonics) me dat it's always been this way and I'm just beginning to find out. I'm believing that now......word has it that there has not been a rightful POTUS election since WW2.

Knowing (and believing) all this really really really confirms my belief why "they" want to git are guns. (More Ebonics) sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttt bro. I'm going downstairs to hug my B.A.R.....---00

I call BS.
It may have always been crooked, but nothing like now. Technology being what it is today, they are way more in control and wired into everyone's life. Back then, if you lived in the country or on a farm, you were pretty much out on your own. Not now. There is no escape from them, and no privacy.
Look what they did over the last 2 years. If they were always that crooked, and had the capability, they'd of done it decades ago.
Or would they? Maybe it's worse now?

Well politics is complicated and somewhat crooked and has always been that way. The most simplistic view on the negative side has a low chance of being right even if endorsed by rural Maine and Recluse, PA. But if it is tell me what is going to happen as per my previous invitation.

If if were to go with a political opinion here it would likely be AJ but he comes at it from a couple points of view.

The Dems rely on the inner cities to skew what most of PA and NY would vote.

There are a lot of people scrambling now to get to the lily pad they think has the advantage. I am watching to see what might happen. Multiple interests are trying to control.

Even rural Maine has history books. I believe on the score of government and civilizations, the arc is well established.
This country's government is totally corrupt. Ain't no fixing it. Evil rules the day.

Yep Jayster...even with my limited and somewhat novice political knowledge I have come to believe that the entire system is corrupt with corruptness elevating progressively with the higher offices.......

Now I'm hearing, but don't have the foresight to decipher, that Gov. Abbot and Gov. Desantis sent all of those illegals to sanctuary cities up north knowing that the illegals would be able to stay here and that if they remained in Texas and Florida they would be able to send them back to Mexico if the republicans took control of the House and Senate!!!! I don't know, only repeating what I saw on TV....

What I do know for sure is that I got robbed tonight......once or twice a week me and mom go out to eat or pick up take out food so tonight I told mom to call Bravos for a pizza....nothing special, a medium pizza with the trimmings and a salad and one Pepsi....I went from Recluse, Pa., past Costco and to Bravos..(1.8 miles) and the bill was $51.51. I was fit to be tied, paid the bill with a Grant and two Washingtons, drove home and refused to eat it telling mom NEVER to order anything from those beaners again....(yea, those beaners saw a Gringo with a big wad and took advantage of him) I never argue about a bill but respond by never going back there again.

Five hours later and I'm still boiling. Was not a worker there over 5' 2".

About a month ago I went into "Five Guys" and ordered 2 cheeseburgers, fries, and 2 Pepsis......the guy rang up the bill before they cooked it and said $55.....I walked out telling them, "forget it". WTF?!---00

Prices are crazy. We stopped at Buger King for hamburgers. They wanted $4.40 for small fries. All this stuff is through the roof here around Condo City. Crime is crazy. People are doing weird stuff. You better beware these days. As far as food, shop wise and make your own. Going out for dinner, count on $50-$100 I don’t care what you get. The K22 I bought new for $85 now about $800 at the local gun shop. President of the postal workers union told me they can’t get people to work the outlying offices. Gas used to be $.25 now $5 at Costco. Politics has always been corrupt. Money talks.

So where are we now and where will it go? When Bush supported Hillary was a give away. Don’t depend on a political savior. We shall see where it all goes.

Now that chicken was about $5 on sale. Couple meals there. The carcass simmered for 9 hrs with some onion, carrots, celery and the cubed breast back in at the end good for a few meals. You can make pizza home. These days better try to preserve what you have.

Here is a current map of the country. You can see where the trouble lies. And the plan is to make it worse. The word democracy is code for let’s get the inner cities to outvote the rest of the country. I heard them let the plan out at the beginning of the Clinton administration on public television. Apparently they think there are people who will believe Biden and who ever is pulling his strings.

And I didn’t buy the fries but they gave them to me free. The Hungarians made the best pizza in Roebling NJ. Long gone place.

Now this is just rolling around in my head after getting up for a bit. An Italian/German went into a Mexican joint for pizza, sounds like a three guys walked into a bar joke. Guess I could go into my experience as the condo unofficial complaint dept. as my wife has been on the HOA board for ten years. And the mixed community here has somehow gotten the idea I am directing the towing operation on parking enforcement.

But after dealing with thousands of people over the years broad classifications don’t usually work but some seem to be true. So many examples out here in dealing with thousands … especially after having lived in NJ, PA, IA, LA and CA.

Back to the Bush/Hillary issue. It would appear Trump was a threat to some behind the scenes political alignment. Now that it appears Florida and Ohio have shifted decidedly Republican that behind the scenes cabal are likely recalculating but who knows how.

Six,
I thought OR was trying to take the lead into economic collapse, but it appears your new governor wants to speed PA to the head of the line. Do the unions even know what they voted for?

Well, must be a reason I got up at an early time...10.......sometimes aggravation in the back of your mind keeps a soul unsettled. :D

OK, unions......Communist they are but......they are a necessary evil.......they keep both sides in check.....it's not the 1950's-60's and 70's when the unions had uncontrolled power......I remember the early days but as time went on, power was decidedly lost.....I was a Teamster for 44 years and I can say I would not have lasted that many years without the support of Local 830.....In spite of my excellent work and attendance record, (one of, if not the best) I had a target on my back as I was known as the "educator" always educating the guys on the slyness of management all of which went unappreciated.......bottom line...unions are needed but with a balance in power.

Politics......12% and 14% of our populace are black and Hispanic...probably 85% blue......the near whole of college educated whites are blue. Many whites are cutting their own throats by voting blue...doesn't the high prices of everything pee them off? I don't get it. The way common sense goes this country should be 70/30 in favor of red.....

All people are naturally greedy and want their money to buy things like expensive cars and houses to impress other people and when they have to take their money to buy stupid stuff like gas and food, you figure they would show it at the polls. Trey Gowdy said that the other night.......

Ohhh F. it all, raining like crazy...think I'll head down to the mighty gunroom.....

Oh! The unions! ....yes, 99% of union guys don't know their a. from a hole in the ground........they do as they are told.......I used to pee off the union officials too with my Rupublican talk......Maybe 4 guys in the whole plant were R's......it's not like the old days where smart guys were also Union.......as time went on smart people got white collar jobs which left the residue to do industrial work.....

But.....the union officials respected me.....I could call and get any of the business agents or even the President on the line whenever I wanted to.....they took my calls without a call back.

I don't know nothing about statistics but what I do know that since my area has had a major influx of yuppies, we have overwhelmingly turned blue when it used to be 98% red.....weak minded college graduates being influenced by their equally weak minded professors.......as long as they have their 5,000 sq. ft house and two BMW's in their four car garage they don't care about regular folk......----000000006 and 1/8th

Hey!! 004 and 9/16'ths........it's always about character traits...if there is bad chemistry a boss will find a way to get rid of you and that's why a Union is needed....I never was one to take any S but I knew not to cross the line.......I got along fine with upper management, It was the little bosses I couldn't stand, especially the union guys who turned into bosses...pus&@$s......couldn't stand em.

Don't know about Shapiro...he has the endorsement from the State Police which is a good thing........fracking? ....dunno as I'm done fighting for other people.....if those guys let it happen, it's not my problem

Oh man, another 3 nights. Well at least it's gonna rain all weekend. Weather is going to be good next week but not sure how much hunting I will get in. Got to do some work on the middle kids snowblower. He doesn't have any time with the new baby. Got some stuff around the house to do. I did manage to get the tractor and pick up the last of the leaves this morning. Hauled the kids blower home.

Oh! I did manage to get that flashlight this week. I bought a pair of NIB roller skates and a full box of replacement wheels off the guy too. He was pretty young. Getting ready to move and was selling a few things. He had a Winchester table cloth I tried to get, but he wouldn't part with it. He took my number and said if he had anything else he'd give me a call.

Ha! I actually HAD heard that one! Even way up here. :D
Gotta have snowblower ready bud! It's pouring here too. But the weather can change quick. If there is something wrong, I want to allow time to scrounge up the parts and have it fixed before he needs it.

Now mine.....
I keep in a constant state of readiness. I start it several times over the summer and let it run for a bit. After hunting season, I will change the oil and she'll be ready to rip!

Yes......one of the biggest mistakes people make is not running their small engine tools at least 4 times a year. Plus, use stabilizer and never let the gas sit more than a year and always keep it full. I did my generator the other day, ran it for for two hours, (I was using it out back) and when I was done, siphoned out the gas and put in fresh gas (93 oct. in ALL of my small engines) then run that for awhile.

Everything gets a new plug every year and a change of oil...except my push mower...I run that to death and don't do nothing to it except sharpen the blade.

Cost me $400 for a change of oil in the big Kubota last winter.....engine, trans, front axle, all filters.(5)

On my Jeep I have a 3 speed "auto suck" for when I take long drives. Works electrically from the fuse box. Mine is the deluxe with automatic clean out and self lubing. :D a

3 guys decide to go skydiving......an Englishman, a black guy and a Pollack.........The Pollack jumps out of the plane, pulls the cord and the parachute opens perfect.....the Englishman jumps out, pulls his cord and the same thing, perfect. The black guy jumps out and pulls the cord.....nothing!...he goes winging through the air 100 miles an hour trying everything to get his chute to open...

He zips on past the Englishman and continues to gain speed and passes the Pollack, who looks at the black guy zipping right along and rips off his own harness and chute, then hollers to the black guy, "Oh! You wanna race do you??!!"---------006

My search is over for now :D
I have found a small apartment on the Dorset / Somerset border. It's very small and has no land attached but I have met the landlady ( she is very nice) and she knows the farmer who runs a pheasant shoot. I hope to move in before December and may be off line around that time :( still may have to sell what guns I have left which I was planning on anyway, they are mostly beaters so no real value, once I'm settled I will treat myself to some new shooting irons and possibly some gauge adapters to keep the size of my new gun safe to a minimum. I don't think my old safe would fit in this new apartment.
Boy I am done with looking at properties for quite a while........

Congrats gk. Glad things turned your way. Where on that border. Many ancestors trace back to Wiltshire.

It's right on the northern border of Dorset, Wiltshire is a little further East. Beautiful countryside and Somerset is famous for its Cider, I had a chance of a property in Herefordshire which also is famous for Cider.
I read somewhere that Somerset has the highest number of shotgun owners in the UK don't know if that's true but they will be gaining another one soon.. :D
Just checked and no Somerset doesn't have the highest number..... :( but there are lots of gun shops around here which I will be visiting soon.

Fred...I thought he said it was Compton. :D

Great GK.....we are all sure it's a burden off your shoulders......that's a cool picture with the hedgerows and all of the stone buildings.......as the English colonists came here it's common sense they brought their ways with them and around here was developed very early with a few buildings dating to the late 1600's. There are many farmhouses from the 1700's that still stand and they all have that English look.....the house my wife grew up in was built in 1804 and boy!, did the "amateur historians" raise hell when my FIL had it torn down to build a new house....today, your not allowed to do that.

About 3 years ago some rich guy bought an old farmhouse that was dated to pre revolutionary times and it documented to have officers from Washington's army to the have stayed there during the Battle of the Brandywine.......He wanted to tear it down and build a monstrosity 6,000 footer but he was beat down......so he built the house maybe 50' from the old house.....

Oh well....rain has moved out and I'm headed to the woodpile where I have a n hidden in. :D ...good ole Thomas Jefferson always telling his wife that he had to bring in wood for the fireplace...----006 and 13/16ths....

Same over here if you own an historic building or a just plain old one you have to leave just as it was.
I haven had time to explore the area yet but looking forward to it... :)

Wow! Beautiful John. So glad to hear. Walking distance from a real English pub! Lots of old beautiful English doubles (the best in the world). Sounds pretty good to this old hick.
Weird.....I looked at the pic and didn't see any cars on blocks, old washing machines, or other garbage. Must be no dooryards there......
