Haha oh man I like that! The cement blocks would add a touch of class for sure.

Hey GK! That's awesome! It's nice to know you got some 1st class redneckery (hey, I just made that up) going on over there! You truly are one of us. :D

“Redneckery” :D …….you just coined a new word………in all seriousness, being a redneck is perfect common sense as the populace are conditioned by “big corpa” (hey, I made that up…you know, like big Pharma) that we all need the newest and best to fit in……

Sheeeeetttt……when I walk into Harbor Freight I can hear the whispers……”here comes that guy who buys all the tarps, he must have broken another window.”

Well guys, it’s ooooffffffff to the bank to get a cashiers check for $3209.60 for the school taxes so the kids can throw the books out the window and teachers can take their full paid sabbaticals………..

Mom showed me this parody video in which the guy told his viewers, “I’m going to do something and I want to see if anyone notices anything.”…..the video shows him walking across this field holding a ladder with an AR slung over his shoulder.

Sounds like you were close to heat stroke. 97/97 is harder than here at 110° and low humidity. But you have to watch it. Either way.

Dr. Fred
Is that why I was shaking so bad? It was to the point where there was no way I could have driven a vehicle……..my mind is young but I guess there is no way to control aging of the body.

A sloped roof was the directors excuse…….must be the new mantra of the left…….make security so lax even a 2 bit criminal can do it…….

I truly hope lots of Congressional hearings come out of this……

Dang, did I have a hell of a day today dealing with the public, traffic, bank tellers and clerks talking soft along with mom being a back seat driver. I bet I apologized 10 times today to get people to speak up…..hearing aids ain’t worth a F.

“Why are you going this way?….turn left!……get in the other lane…..slow down……there’s a stop sign you know…….turn up the AC…..the dog wants to sit on your lap!”……never ending……——002

Hey! Two in a row.

Thats weird. The wife and I went to Walmart today. As we were walking out, it suddenly struck me how little I'm out in public. I said as much to her. I was glad to get outta there. That place is a leper colony.
As a bonus, there were two police cruisers with the lights going in the parking lot. And a ramp truck. I imagine impounding the meth filled 500 dollar car.

Leper colony……you got it good….our Walmarts are filled with illegals that have the bubonic plague. I won’t go there.

Watching the RNC…..Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan really cracked me up. I’ve been a Trump fan from day one. He will go down as the greatest POTUS in modern history.

I agree. It's obvious that Trump wants to benefit the entire country while Biden is merely a political hack who is willing to bring the country to ruin in order to promote his party.

Globalization………..there’s a crowd out there who wants to the first “President of the World”. Common sense, from cave man to tribes, to villages, to cities and kingdoms, to countries, to u nited nations………..no former country more powerful or weaker than the other……spread the technology……spread the wealth (as Obama says)

All in the name of “power”. Why can’t people just live their “thrown into the world” lives in peace? “Jealousy” is a wicked emotion, followed closely by “money”. We are all given a clean slate when we are born and the rest of it is decisions, yours, or if you let it, others.

Well then Jay…you learned it way before me…….it wasn’t until near retirement and retirement that I had time to think about anything other than work at work, work at home and of course Winchesters & Colts.

Never bothered to observe other people as I didn’t give a S.about others……and I still don’t give a S about others. Screw em all, I like being a hermit. :D. You’d feel the same way if you were F over as much as me, but…I let it happen……you know, late learner….:D —-00

I got a leg up by doing that term paper on Orwell my junior year in high school. It was an eye opener.
I always try and observe things with an open mind. I may not always succeed, but I try. Plus, I've had a job where I could think. Maybe I should have paid work more attention, but I still do more and have more knowledge than most here. Last few years, I just don't care. I'm on autopilot, and am just running out the clock.

I hear ya bro….,”running out the clock”…….At least I waited until the last couple of months before I had that attitude…..the previous 43+ years I did what was needed to keep my job and benefits. I still outperformed most everyone there because it’s my nature, plus, I had one heck of a record in the last few years when the big target was plastered all over me…..

I saw it many times……management would F with you so you’d screw up and they wouldn’t have to pay all the goodies from 62-65. They tried it on me with the help of fellow employees as these guys wanted my cushy job. Unlike sissies, I fought fire with fire….and walked out of there a few days before I was 62. They even gave me a very nice engraved wrist watch, unlike other retired guys who got a cheap $69 pocket watch…..

It’s been 8 years and I never went back…..

At least the heat is gone

Yeah this place runs like the government, so "doing a good job" means nothing. And working hard works against you. I've been running out the clock for 10 years now.
I'm number 16 in the plant for seniority. A couple years ago, I got a copy of all my employee records. That way they can't go in and change them when they decide to drive me out. I got all those glowing reviews and attaboys in a nice thick folder at home. They screw with me now and its age discrimination or some other thing.
The best news is our commie governor signed a bill that next year they have to start paying us for our FMLA leave. Perfect! Another 12 weeks vacation. I got "elderly parents" you know. I'm an only child and they need care.
I'll have to work about 2 days a year. May as well play the game. :D

Great! Use it…the FMLA…….the bro’s would use it for all kinds of silly excuses until the plant caught on and then documentation was needed…you know, doctors notes…….management made you call a phone number and then another number……it was confusing…..I never used it. My only absences were from two hernia operations…….the first in ‘96 and I had no problems getting paid due to my excellent work record……but……I only got about 2 weeks off……the second one on my right side I told them I did it at home…….really don’t know where I got it, my intestine just popped out.I took a month off but with insurance pay, about half of regular pay. Sheeeetttt, on the second op I was up and about in 3 days so I spent the next month at the gun club.

When you go out on work related the doctors push you back to work as they did on my first op…..after I took my month off I went back to work for a week and then took two weeks vacation, with four more after that spread out…..

Last week when I was talking to Billy the Drunk he was telling me the plant was giving him hell as he had 10 days out for FMLA…..his mom is 85 and in poor health so he takes care of her. Don’t know what he does but the liquor store is a block from where he lives and I suspect his FMLA is for the liquor store owner. He was so drunk talking on the phone to me it was bursting my ear drums and I’m near deaf.

Bill the Drunk is below redneck status…more to a low end hillbilly…lives in a trailer from the sixties, makes 80 grand a year and is always broke. He can’t fix nothing like a redneck, maybe a loose screw on his cooler he keeps on the front seat of his 2003 Dodge diesel pick up. I told him he could save lots of money by having a conveyor belt from the liquor store to his trailer. One time I was there and the only thing in his fridge was beer and a few condiments like ketchup and an onion that’s been there since Noah’s Ark.🤪

Haha oh man! I work with guys like that too. Everywhere has em. Don't know how they live like that. Not that I'm any great shakes, but man, that's bad.
I can't wait to get outta here. I'll probably starve to death, but I don't care. Least I won't be here.
Most of the 15 guys that's ahead of me in seniority have been here a year or less longer that me. There's one guy that won't retire. Idiot. He's been here since 81 I think. All the rest are close to me, time wise. Lot of the guys here now weren't born when I came here. I got Old somewhere along the way.

You’re what they call down here an “old head”………I was # 12 when I started then #7 for 15 …#5 for 10 years and #2 for the remaining 12 years or so…..the forklift drivers had their own seniority, if you bumped into a different dept. like production you were a new man but sometimes it was negotiated. One guy, “Mike the Pig” was several years older than me and he was number 1 and retired a couple of years ago at 69……yea, no life. In fact, I’d go as far to say that most guys didn’t have a life outside of work or home……..some would claim “going to the beach for a day 3 times a year a hobby………really, most guys were constantly broke and worked weekends and 10-12 hour shifts 6 and 7 days a week.

I tried to tell the guys I’d talk to, it’s “not how much money you make but how you manage the money you do make” and whatever you do, you DO NOT put your wife in charge of the money unless you trust her and there’s dang few of them…. I was always “8 and skate” (unless forced OT)

Now, “Mike the Pig” had a desire for dark meat……lost everything and was living in a gazebo at the Holiday Inn feeding the geese…(for real)….he would walk through the Holiday Inn like he owned the place and eat donuts that were out for the guests….then we found out he was living in the back of the warehouse in our off site satellite warehouse when the weather got cold…..didn’t even have a car for like 5 years and ate from the vending machines. Years later his daughter grew up and had a slew of Oreos. Funny thing, he was always happy and never let anything bother him………I had different standards……

Well, it’s off to have some fun…got a white ash that’s dying that needs a trim.—-00

I worked for the same company for 43 years. Ownership of the company changed, the name changed several times. The company was bought by different holding companies that bled the outfit dry and then sold it but I always stayed. The work suited me just fine; my boss would come work with me once a year whether I needed it of not so my entire contact with the company was via computer. It was an industrial sales company and my customers meant a whole lot more to me than my employer. I miss my customers but I visit a few of them now and then just for grins.

Ha! Ditto Walt! I was just shy of 44 years for the same company which also changed names and ownership twice while I was there……the beverage industry is very resilient and is relatively recession proof. I never could remember when things were slow. 1 point 8 miles from home, clean environment and decent management…….my biggest issue was some of the people I worked with….very little honor or for that manner, intellect towards the last 20 years.

Oh well, the weather is nice and the mighty Kubota B3350 is sitting out at the back of the pasture……a safety switch which is under the seat and other brackets I can’t get to without a lot of tools or I’d bypass it…….life…..——00

2024 flower bed….moms flowers…she picked them out, I paid for them….I bought and mixed the soil…..I planted them…..I bought and applied the flower fertilizer…….I made the flower bed…….I water them everyday, sometimes twice a day……I pick out any weeds….but….they are mom’s flowers. :D

Arizona Sun……sure looks like the sun………funny thing, I seldom thought about flowers until I got older…….

Not much going on……engine light on the Rubi came on…….code said it was the throttle position sensor……just put it on……..a 10 minute job that took me an hour….Ive lost my confidence, always afraid of snapping something or making a mistake that will cost me thousands….

Man! Where did that week go?

Hey! Got your sensor changed. Did you get your codes all cleared and try it? Hopefully your issue is solved.

We went down to L.L.Bean today. Had to bring my boots down to get repaired. I took a cruise through the guns for a laugh. There were only 3 old Winchesters. There was an 1895 in 35WCF and I HAD to text a pic to my boy. Standard solid frame rifle. Had finish, but nowhere near as much as your old one. They had 6500 on it.
WTH?

Did some more jetting work on my trail bike. Got it dialed in pretty good now.

The 35 I sold your boy is a nice one….fair price would have been 4 due to condition, takedown, plus, the near ultra rare rubber butt plate….I'm glad he is happy with it and it went to a good home.

Those plastic wire connectors on wiring in a car/Jeep can be a nightmare….seems like everyone has a different lock on it. I spent most of the time with a 900 Lumen Sure Fire examining how it came apart…….hanging on the fender with my foot on a tire with parts of the Jeep digging in my gut doesn’t make it any easier. I could NEVER be a mechanic..zero patience left….my mechanical experiences always came out of NEED, not pleasure.

The light stayed on …….im not familiar with modern stuff….I'm a nuts, bolts, gears, chain, gasket kind of guy and came into the house all sweaty, told mom about the light staying on……and get ready for this…swear to the Almighty…….she said, “did you unhook the battery?”

Like, how did she know that? I unhooked both terminals for 15 minutes….hooked them back up……turned the key, the engine light came on for a split second and went out…..Im the stupidest individual in the world when it comes to computer stuff.

Off the subject, the other day I was at Home Depot and bought some paint for $17…..only money I had was a hundred and look what I got back in change….never saw one like this….must be a new denomination.—-00

Amy and I went on an ATV ride this morning. Although she has ridden with me (as a passenger) many times she has never piloted one herself. We left the house at 0400 and got to our unloading spot at 0615. I knew we were going to start off pretty slow because she didn't know how to negotiate the rocks and the puddles. It's been raining every evening here for a couple of weeks so there was none of that obnoxious dust that's as fine as flour and just explodes like a bomb out of the ruts when driven over. We had a really nice ride; she gained confidence as the morning progressed and we went along faster. By ten o'clock we had ridden 15 miles, stopped for numerous snacks and pee breaks so we headed back to the truck and back home. She rode the green Yamaha and I rode the Honda with a clutch and regular gears. We talked about switching off several times but it never happened. I'm glad she enjoyed it.

Yeah, that 95 was a good deal and I told my boy that. Beautiful rifle.

Haha yeah. That code is still stored but it doesn't matter. It can be cleared with a code reader. That's how you can shut off the check engine light too. No biggie. These days, there are very few TJs on the road without that light on constantly. Dad's old 97 with 180k still runs with no light. Man, that thing has been tough. I cleared a low rpm mixture issue a couple months ago on it, but it hasn't been back. It threw it up to camp when in 4lo and lugging low. May have just loaded up a bit.

Hey! That's how they pay me at work! :D

Jay, mine's a 95 and it's been a workhorse. I did increase the displacement a bit so it'll haul the mail for a little quad like that. But it'll just putt along all day without a complaint too. Talk about a basic ATV! It doesn't owe me a thing.

Jay, that's amazing! My first quad was a 250X with the old leg start. Even more basic than the 300EX that at least has a battery. Actually. I bought the 250 for my kids but ended up playing with it a bit myself. Later I bought a 400EX that put the little 300 to shame in terms of performance. I ended up trading that for a Honda CR250 for my son who raced it. That thing was scary.

Yeah. The 400 was way ahead. I never had one as I'd gone over to 4 wheel drive utility wheelers by then.
Nothing is faster through rough woods or terrain than a dirt bike. Nothing.
My XR600R was a 4 stroke, but nonetheless crazy powerful and fast. The scariest 2 stroke I ever rode was an 87 KTM500EXC. That thing was unbelievable.
For 4 wheelers, I never got to ride a 500 Quadracer, but did ride a Banshee. That was pretty fast too.

Oh yea!!!!!! I once had a tricycle……that’s all I can say……(just trying to be supportive of the toys you guys play with)….Mom don’t care if I came home with an 80K Jeep or a 1 of 1,000 1873…….if I had the money….but NO motorcycles of any kind.

We have beautiful weather.

Now Joe Biden wants to change the Supreme Court.

Constant turmoil in the world

Some ragheads in Lebanon blasted civilians in northern Israel. …..can’t figure out Muslims…all they want to do is kill people. Where is the joy of living and just accepting other peoples beliefs?……There needs to be a major strike with a hypersonic missile right through the palace doors in Iran.

Hey! I had a tricycle too!

It's nice here this weekend too. This is the second week in a row where it's beautiful all weekend and rain all week. Not good in my world.
Thinking of ripping tomorrow off. My buddy isn't coming in anyway. Next weekend I have to take Friday and Saturday off for the wife's class reunion.
When I start taking time, it's even harder to come in here. I hate it here now.

Fred,
Aren’t your “friends” with mom on Facebook?……if not send her a request ……..for real….she likes to see all that glamour that’s in the land of fruits and nuts. She’s not a redneck, I am so she can spend money.

This is crazy…..like 5 days in a row of beautiful weather……..yesterday I thought I was in Maine……out in the far back and got bit by a mess of these green flies, left welts the size of a golf ball. I scratched until I was in China but landed in Jays dooryard instead……and there he was, drinking beer and swatting away black flies.

Nah!
I was at camp all day today swinging a brush saw. Fun! Got the road all brushed out. Then took a ride down the hill to pick out a couple spots for some water bars.
No bugs at all. None. Seasons over.
The deer flies were out early this year for some reason. Their all pretty much gone now. Usually they haven't even started yet.

Did you use a hammer and sickle? That’s a good workout……sure beats going to the gym with the pecker checkers…..for real, the gyms near me all have that reputation.

I went outside to detail the Z422…baby looks like new….that McGuires (sic?) makes Armorall look like junk. I don’t know why as it’ll be a ghetto cruiser after the next cutting.

Haha no sickle. Some of the stuff I cut was an inch in diameter. Bought the new Stihl brush saw last year to replace our old one. Its WAY better. That old one didn't owe us anything but it was pretty rough. We'd had it 25 years and we bought it used.

I use the Meguires protectant too. I was an Armor All user for decades.

Never been in a gym.

Well, I’ve HAD it with battery powered tools……have around 2 G’s invested. I rotate the batteries so they all get the same use…..the little ego batteries are a buck and a half while the next size up is around $400……….this year three batteries took a S. The blower is the best and I’ll keep that…..the chain saw is great for small jobs which most of it is. The hedge trimmer is also great, lightweight and powerful as is the trimmer…..

The tools are great but the batteries AIN’T worth a S…….im going down to Brandywine hardware and buying a STIHL trimmer tomorrow….around 4 for the good one or about the price of a good ego battery that lasts 3 years….my 2 STIHL chainsaws and a STIHL blower are both around 5 years old and zero issues and I’ve run the hell out of the one saw….

Oh well…so much for electric….wait until these electric cars start having issues.

Sorry man, that sucks.
I've still got my old 80s Stihl 028. Been a tough old rig, but when I bought a new saw I got a Husky this time. With the brush saw, I stuck with Stihl. They saw Stihl has the best small pruning saws too.
