You could always buy a cheap electric Craftsman saw……..stop at Harbor Freight and buy 2 miles of extension cords or just carry a 200 lb. Generator with ya……..lugging around a 12 lb saw can be tiring.

Really, contrary to what I recommended before stay away from battery operated saws……F. batteries die and they ain’t cheap…..a 5000 Ego is close to $400 or about the price of a new gas saw. I had THREE go bad on me this year. Got 2 batteries left and when they go I’m buying Chinese replacements for $100…..reviews are not bad, no better or worse than Ego batteries.

Yeah. I've looked at them but I just never dared to buy one. Guess that should tell me something. For a little gas pruning saw, I'd buy a Stihl. They have the best small saws, and all the tree service guys around here use them. My buddy has one he told me he would sell and told me to take it and try it. I may do that.
I have two small Homelite saws that would work great, but I have to tinker on them. I have to try and figure out what carburetor they need, and that ain't easy.

You have to fool with the carburetor? Just carry a 5 gallon jug on your back with a line going from the jug and stick it in the old carburetor. You know, gravity feed…………I really get more stupid as the day goes on and I apologize for being extra stupid. Kinda reminds me of the time I told a guy to buy 2 miles of extension cord for an electric saw.

Hey? You and I BOTH know people who have had 5 gallon jugs higher than the engine in their car/truck and did just that…gravity feed. :D back before I drove it was semi common to see a car going down the road with a 5 gallon jug on the passenger side of the hood with a line going through the hood into the carb. At that time, mid 60’s we were about 5 years ahead of people in Maine. Like, when did you guys get indoor plumbing? We’ve had an inside toilet now for 2 years.

Tomorrow bro…—-00

Haha yup. Our neighbor across from my parents place brought home a model A across the field like that. He spent a couple years on and off restoring it. He did a beautiful job and it was really nice.

Model A??? Sheeeeeet…..you guys that advanced? Up until a few years ago we were still driving model T’s. I have two model T’s but they are stored in my underwear.

Yea, these young punks today don’t know what semi poverty was….we were not poor nor were we rich but Pennie’s counted. We always had what we needed but if we wanted something, we had to work for it,…(we’ve discussed this before) now, today, everyone is a DuPont with hospital clean houses. That boy of mine is about to buy a DIRT bike for half of what I paid for the house.

I told mom she must have lost a tooth yesterday as the tooth fairy left her a prize……she looked under the pillow and there was a toe nail clipping from my big toe.

I have said for years that the early Fords were simply genius. The T a little more than the A. They will go where few of today's "4x4's" would ever dream of going. They have 3x the ground clearance, Incredible flex, light weight, and the spoked wheels help to drive it when sunk in mud or snow. Right up there with the Willys MB for engineering genius. Very easy to keep running with minimal tools or parts. They can also be converted into many other configurations easily. I always kind of wanted a model T.

Haha! The question is......how many teeth are YOU missing now? :D

Ya know, my dad told me the same thing……..he grew up in a Pa.mountain town where Model T’s & A’s (hey, get it, t&a) and Model A’s were common. He said they went through everything. Even the cars in the 40’s and 50’s went through snow…….then cars lightened up and snow tires were invented………..I had one of first 4 wheel drive pick ups around here in 1976. S, now everything is 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive.

Lots of people slowing down to see our Trump display……strobe lights are smoking away.

I always figured old Henry Ford liked the strip clubs! :D
Back in them days, just going to town was a "wheeling trip". No paved roads. Those cars HAD to perform.
Then someone got the bright idea to tax us into oblivion to "fix the roads".

Oh man, what fun at Costco today. Picked up mom’s and my meds and after answering a mess of questions I was asked for my drivers license….then a few more questions……I told the girl at the register, “I wonder if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris asks that much from the illegals who are invading our country and here I am, a citizen who’s been paying taxes since 1968 gets the third degree.” She handed me my change and hollered “Good Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”. :D……I’m not done………Caught up with mom who was shopping and when we went to the register the young man looked at my MAGA red hat and hurriedly processed our order, scanned the card, took my cash and hollered “next!” without making any eye contact.

Having a good visit though. The whole gang was here last night, except my son. He is still in Alaska with my 2 grandsons.

Oh man. COSTCO had a sale on solar powered or hard wired spotlights…….they used to be $39.95 and decided to sell their remaining inventory for $14.99 to make room for a new design……I bought 8 of them and never had one go bad. The first ones I put up was around 7 years ago….changed the batteries a few times on the solar powered ones. Think I’ll head back there tomorrow and buy up the rest of them

Been busy as all get out with the kids. Sorry for being MIA all week.
This fat old man jumping on a trampoline for hours on end ain't pretty.
We got the oldest boys wedding tomorrow. Just a small family thing on his back lawn. Hick style. Then the DIL and granddaughter head back to Kodiak Sunday.
Then it's back to normal. Well......other than hunting season starting on the 2nd.

Love to see a photo of the fat old man on a trampoline.. glad you're having fun with the young'uns and best wishes for the happy couple :D
I too have been MIA lately just a few unsuccessful squirrel hunts down by the lake, I was going to take a picture of my newly refinished .410 but the sun ain't been shining much over here. Just bought my son a gun safe so he can start a new gun collection when the police get round to issuing his new license.

Thats cool GK! Our town manager for decades was an English lady that was married to a local guy that met her when he was in the service.
She did a great job. They lived up the road from me about a mile. She always drove one of those little Brit cars like that. It looked funny on the road around here. :D

Thanks Walt…..it’s not work though….its stress reducing therapy. I like staying physically active and throwing around logs weighing from 30-400 pounds works great. Well,I don’t throw around the 400 pounders but I do have to manipulate them to the splitter with the help of a post hole bar. As you know, it’s not hard to make weight and momentum work for you.

The other day I spent and hour and a half just on 2 logs…..I don’t mean long logs, these were about 18”x36” or so….wet oak over a hundred years old. Sometimes I have to split them in half with wedges and a 10 pound sledge.

Ha! After the news, Jimmy Kimmel comes on…….me and mom both reached for our remotes at the same time…..she said, “don’t think so m.f.er.:D

Ya know, if a major news corporation thinks it’s funny and then make a skit out of it, my thinking is on track with mainstream conservative brain waves……..blasting gas is funny….of course, you don’t do these things in other peoples houses or cars…or faces……..or in any other quiet place like church, in court, at dinner time or especially when your being interviewed by the MSN authorities.

I got wood to split and a fairly large tree to take down and really don’t have time for other’s misery, petty jealousy, putting on a suit and tie, or class rivalry. Let the gas fly for the uncultured!—-006. :D

How about this…ONE charge on the EGO battery saw…….i couldn’t believe it, must be the cool weather and a new chain…..that baby sliced through it like a hot knife going through butter……..it’s exactly 20’……..cutting a notch 20’ up that’s 18” in diameter with a couple of thousand pounds of wood above it is no easy feat on a ladder………wouldn’t ya know it, after I had everything off the tree what I wanted my nosy neighbor comes over and asks, “why are you not cutting it all the way down?”. I told him that I’m going to carve out a totem pole with all of the neighbors names on it along with the date they moved in and sadly, your name is going on the bottom.

Not a cloud in the sky today…beautiful weather for a Sunday

I’m really going to put 3 solar powered spot lights on top for a total amount of 6,000 lumens.

Hey! Big job at Six's place today!

Well, we got the kids off on their way this morning. Always hate to see em go.
Had to return the tables and chairs we got from the fire station for the oldest boys wedding yesterday. He and his new wife are gone for a few days. After that, I came home and changed the oil and rotated the tires on the GC and the Gladiator. Tomorrow, I'll try and pick up the leaves again. Been cold and windy the last couple days, so a bunch more have come down. Hardly any left at camp.

Yea Jay…..sometimes mom says she rather not have my son come home because it hurts more when they leave…….you sure had a nice week. You can borrow my Cyclone Rake if you like…that baby really sucks up the leaves and chops them up.

So your boy is on his honeymoon…..whew, I remember those days……he’s gonna be tired with weak knee's for sure. I can only dream and remember those days…….he has his whole life ahead of him and it’s a good time but you really don’t know it because of the constant thinking it takes to survive, especially with todays world…..BUT….he's going to have a great start with Trump at the helm again.

Watching Trump now…..he sure is an energizing guy.—-00

You have a good point there Walt……….i think it depends on the amount of time……..back when I used to go on my yearly elk hunt out to Colorado it was a 10 day thing and I felt best when I landed in Philly. Like Dorothy says, “there’s no place like home” especially when you can go back to walking around the house in your underwear.

The worst parr for me is they are SO far away. Even a visit is tough. They are moving back here when my son retires at least. Less than 5 years. Hope my parents are still around.
Even when I'm at work I'm over 50 miles from home. Probably why I want out so bad.

I don't mind being at camp at all though! :D

That’s really great GK…..I’m happy for ya, for real…….we all go through periods of unhappiness and it seems the older you get, the longer it stays with you. “They”. (Whomever “they” are” :D) claim that many people (men) die within a few years of retirement. Simply put, they drink too much, eat much, sit around and play with Peter …basically, inactive…..then they die. Winters scare me as there’s less to do

I’ve made it 8 years and while I don’t go to to many places, I stay active and strong…..bless our home and property as I’d be dead living in an apartment. Walt has his activities to keep him busy, so that leaves Jay, the only guy still working but Jay will make it too as he has many interests besides work. Old Savage (where is he?) has his golf and 17 girlfriends and that’s why he looks 45 years old.

Reminds me, when the top 1/3 of that tree fell over it left 31 million little branches broke into 745 million pieces all,of which I’m gonna cut anything bigger than an inch and rake up the rest and light em up.

Back to the totem pole.

Such a great performance by my POTUS last night……I was left in awe.

Howdy Brad! I’m not anywhere near done…….I left the branches sticking out a bit in case I fell or something to put my feet on….they are coming off……..everything is going to be smooth, with no bark and stained redwood……….then I’m going to put solar powered spotlights on top…..

Yea, it’s a little nerve wracking standing at the top, especially when the ladder is a bit wobbly…..I use a 24’ ladder and it just reaches the top……..no safety straps or anything else liberals use….its just more S.to get in your way and tie up the chainsaw, clothing etc.you stay more focused without any stupid safety stuff…..I don’t even use a seat belt in my vehicles. I plug them….

The scariest thing was cutting the notch at 20’. I was hugging the tree with one arm and using one arm with the chainsaw. :D F. it, we all have a number and until my number comes up I’m gonna live with some adrenaline. I’m 70 y.o. now so the Good Lord has given me my “three score and ten” and everyday after my 70th birthday has been a “free day”.

Good day to you and Boots….——006

That's a pretty good job buddy. That would have given me pause too. Like you, I use very little "safety gear". It impedes movement and the ability to get away in many cases. I don't use a harness in any treestands cause I worry more about the tree blowing over or another falling into it.
I refuse to wear a seat belt also. That's not a safety thing, it's a freedom and personal choice thing.

Agree bro….never been much for safety stuff…….towards the end of my “career”, the company had seat belts put on every forklift and dire consequences if caught not using it. I told the “ones with superior knowledge” that I’ve been driving a forklift longer than they have been alive and in more than one instance,I had to make a split decision and jump off because the truck driver decided to pull the trailer out just as I was driving across the plate…….a seat belt would have made me go down off the dock…….

So I made a fake seat belt with Velcro….you would have liked it….left it in my locker after retiring.

Well, it’s back to the 24’ ladder to smoothen up the tree….

Maine ain’t got nuttin on the Whittaker family.

Haha nice!
The guy I ride with to work hasn't bypassed the seat belt alarms in his truck (first thing I do to every vehicle I buy). He wears his because of the alarm, his wife, or both.
When I get in I open the door, buckle the seat belt, then sit on top of it.
My outlook is as such......
If you've always worn a SB because it's your choice and what YOU want to do, that's fine. If you are doing it because "it's the law" or because someone else wants you to, don't ever tell me "they aren't taking my guns" or how you're going to join in a revolution. It's total BS.

Ahhhh, my man …… we think alike……..don’t need anyone telling me how to live my life……if I want to stick my head into a chipper that MY business….. ………I really think it all goes down to what lawyers think to make their 400K a year.

Like, how many times have you and me stuck our hands and a 9/16ths open end turned downwards on an alternator WITH the engine running to tighten up the slack on the belt or to turn the distributor to set the timing marks 10-15 degrees advanced?….(by the way, you college edumacated viewers wouldn’t know what me and Jay are talking about so go grab a hot (warm) piece of apple pie and stick your peanut in there) Ha!

Yea…….I’m (hopefully, both of us)) are a dying breed…….let the fake cultured take over and depend (Depends) on the government.

I tell ya bro……I’m beat…..,(and acting stupid—-natural, don’t drink anymore)……cut the outstanding knots on the totem pole today……..next door is moms sister which she don’t get along with so after cutting off the knots I sat on top facing those liberals. Tomorrow I’m gonna get the lights from Costco, sit on top, kick the $400 ladder away to the ground, laugh, grab my crotch, and shimmy on down…….measured it today with a tape measure….its only 2” shy of 18’.

How about those Whittakers? For real, I feel for them and even left a heartfelt comment…..it’s not their fault they were born into deprivation. They take care of each other and ask nothing from the government…yea, Ray can’t talk and barks like a dog…I’m not laughing like people here think I would…..it’s humbling how others can put someone else in a position they can’t get out of…—-00

Haha oh man! Hey, don't forget having the valve cover off and tightening rocker arms till they are quiet. And jumping a solenoid. And probably more I forgot.
That tree is super cool dude. There's all kinds of stuff you could do with that. Carve it into a giant schlong, then make a dude laying on his back on the lawn! :D
Be cool for Halloween!
Oh man......I gotta go to bed!

Ooooooo, when I say we think alike……well, this is scarey……….it ain’t nuttin’ to carve a giant “head” at the top……round it off and decrease the portion about a foot beneath it……..beings that the bark is still tight, it ain’t nothing to carve out a vein or two going down, then put two of those 36” x 20” logs right next to each other at the bottom…….hell, for that matter a glob of white paint going down the side starting with the head…..ALL ON THEIR SIDE so they see it….

I may not have much class but I’m not that low…fun to think about it…….they have lots of grandkids over there all the time…….

Tomorrow (I was supposed to do it today) I’m gonna head over and get a few more solar spotlights. They are on sale…..you want any? there’s solar and hardwired. I’ll just stick your address on the box and send it to ya…you in bro? for real, how many and what kind?

Thanks buddy! I know you would do just that too!
I have a hardwired one on the garage, and 2 solar ones. One on the garage and one on the house. They cover everything and have cameras that go to my wife's phone.
Last but not least.....2 big dogs with ferocious barks inside.
I ain't got much, but I intend to keep it. :D

Think the wife and I are going to camp today and stay over. It was 19 degrees here yesterday morning. There were flurries at camp according to the weather. Good amount of snow in Jackman.
Saturday is the first day of deer season. Don't think I'm going out. Gonna work this weekend and start on Monday.
I'm going to hunt some with my dad's old c1920 eastern carbine this year. It hadn't been fired in years. My son was the last to shoot it. Last time I shot it was a deer I shot with it the year he was born. It was the only rifle my father owned till I was in HS. First Winchester I ever fired.

Ok, I keep forgetting that you don’t need to be near a store like Costco in order to get stuff……..in fact, one can get through life without a car…….i told mom yesterday I was too tired to go to Costco and 3 hours later a car comes down the driveway with a weeks worth of eats.

19 degrees? Wow…..it was 70 here and it’s supposed to go to near 80 for a few days…….still no rain…….made a historic record with zero rain falling during the month of October.

I got to go find something to do…..—-00

This is what I call a POTUS with large T’s……gets a brand new garbage truck and a safety vest to counter attack Bidens comment that Trump supporters are garbage.

That pimp just got smoked with a Python by Hutch (David Soule). :D

Well, we changed our mind. Didn't go to camp yesterday. Instead, we are rolling it to Jackman and doing some bird hunting today. It's the second week of moose season, so there may be a few people running the roads, but that's ok.

Ha! “Smoked”……did you see the ho jamming money in her private places…….that money could have walked on its own after that.

That was a real deal pimp machine complete with fake side pipes, shag carpeting, fuzzy dice and gold plated (or brass) curb feelers.
And you remember all of the “bad” cops (I think of it as community service) had Pythons.
David Soul died earlier this year.

80 degrees today…..gonna play with the Cyclone Rake …..leaves are falling…..

Haha yeah. We really need that today.
It was warm here too! It was 70! That's insane for this time of year.
We had a great time today. Saw some awesome country. Stopped at a nice quiet pond and boiled up for lunch and tea. We saw 4 birds but only managed to get one. They were pretty skittish and I was lucky to get the one I did.
I ate him for supper. Best eatin in the state!

What kind of bird…grouse? …or those things I saw in Canada…..they look like a grouse but are stupid or they just don’t see people…shot a mess with the 32-20 ………..

a fine way to spend the day, in the woods…..have any cold ones?

I’m miserable…spent half the day sucking up leaves and beings we have not had any rain for a month, a major dust storm envelops the Kubota…took my monthly shower and the dirt turned the bathtub brown….well, I guess it was the dirt.

Leaves have been falling for about a week with about 3 weeks to go…….i see you still have leaves on the trees.

Did ya see what Biden did today? FOR REAL….he was sucking the toes of a little baby, bit the leg of another baby and sniffed the hair of the mother holding the baby.
