Yup. Insanity is the rule of the day.
I been telling my parents there's a bad crash coming. My mom says every time they go to a restaurant it's mobbed with people. In spite of the ridiculous prices.
I keep telling her it doesn't matter. It's the "Last Days of Rome" syndrome. Nobody is paying for anything while they pretend the country isn't going down the tube.

But it is. And that behavior is shirt lived. While hastening the collapse.

I stopped over a couple days later and splashed across the TV is how there is record breaking credit card debt.
I said, "See? Told ya."

You won page 182!!!!!……..what would you like? Like, what can you give to the guy who has everything?……

I don’t know Jay…….5 restaurants packed to the brim…..new cars selling like hot cakes……..this area has one of the, if not the largest amount of dealerships in Pa……..and there ain’t no dealing with any of them…….cannot think of a brand that’s not within 5 miles of here except Ferrari or other extreme cars dollar wise.

I put those ads on F.B.marketplace for those two pavilions and expressly said “cash only” …both gone in two days……dropped some guns off at the auction house 2 months ago and they all went for top dollar several weeks ago……

Most all high dollar supermarkets around here…no junk……yuppie food with no preservatives……ya have to wait to get a parking spot towards the end of the week….

Living here since 1954 has shown me the ups and downs and I see zero downs…..

But 10-20 miles down the road is hoodville and you know what those areas are like….only thing there THATS doing good are wig shops, cigar stores and liquor.

Funny as heck, we were watching 3 Stooges on the big screen here and the stooges were in a foreign country and were sentenced to death. The man asked if there were any last requests and Curly asks if he can have a last smoke to which he is granted…..so he pulls out this 2 foot long cigar and by the time he’s done smoking it the guards all fell asleep…..then they were eating oyster soup and the oysters were jumping out of the bowl and one bit Moe on his nose.

Hey........if I didn't know any better.......
I'd say you think Biden DID build back better. :D

Me? No way. It's all a lie. If I've learned anything it's that people spending money means nothing.
I KNOW I have less money, and the money I have don't go as far. The wife and I have good jobs for up here, and carry little debt. Doesn't make sense.
Every business is trying to hire with no takers.
It's like everywhere you look, someone is trying to convince you how great it all is.
I don't believe it.

I don't know about down there or anywhere else, but up here the grocery stores look like those pictures they used to show us of Russia. Empty shelves everywhere. Half the time you can't get what you want. Some stuff we haven't seen in months. We went to Sam's Club last Wednesday and most all of the coolers were empty. Couldn't get butter or half of anything else she wanted.
Now, I ain't worried mind you. I have an entire cow and about a deer and a half in the freezers. Plus tons of canned and dry goods.
I also have a real bad attitude and a desire to survive. :D

" The last days of Rome" I have had that feeling for quite some time.
In my lifetime I have seen many things like freedom and common sense go into reverse and only a few seem to realise or even care about it.
Perhaps I should just buy an electric car and stop eating meat and comply .......................................................................................or maybe not.

The “last English Rebel”…. :D…….well, I agree with you both…to a point……..I still believe a sizable number of politicians (in the minority) want it the way it’s always been. …“Capitalism”……. ..and I also believe most politicians DO NOT want to go to a cashless society…..it’s safe to bet that 95% of those bast*’+= have personal home safes full of green and gold……

People complain but the numbers tell the truth…..cars and homes are selling…..higher rates, but they are selling………

No doubt the left is trying to destroy us all…….that’s the only way to bring in Socialism and have it accepted……..”destroy” and then “build back to the way THEY want it”…..

In the meantime, I’m planning a little trip….waaaayyyy north to a little cabin to get fertilizer for the fields…. :D gonna have a “wheelbarrow brigade”……I’ll leave the shovels up there

Yeah. I just saw that auto repossession is the highest it's been since 2009.
I will stand by my earlier statements. All these people ran to the bank over the last 2 years when the real estate prices were artificially inflated by 200%. They cashed out all the false equity and have run around like millionaires ever since. Well.....now the values are correcting, and all these idiots are upside down in their mortgage, and everything else they have bought with it. They now owe more than their property is worth by 50% at least. The next thing that will happen is they will decide it isn't worth it, file chapter 11, and walk away.

You are correct in that a capitalist society will self correct and take care of itself. The problem is, this isn't a capitalist society anymore. Every institution is run and controlled by government. Everything is corrupted to the point that there is no foundation. Everything is directed by politics and bureaucracy.

wow, maybe that explains why a BIL on my wife’s side did what he did…….he WAS 15 years older than me…..buying new cars, in Vegas twice a year…blah..blah……he dropped dead about 5 years ago and left his wife, my wife’s sister in absolute chaos…..he borrowed on the house to the tune of 400K and never paid a dime of it back…….here’s the funny thing, if I want to call it funny…..

She still lives in the house paying NUTTIN’. No taxes, nuttin….she’s 82 and one of the nastiest people I’ve ever come across….bank leaves her alone as they don’t want the publicity of kicking out an old woman to the street as nobody I know will bring her in…nasty bro…nasty.

The house is a tear down with our standards….I don’t recall seeing any turds in the yard but I’m afraid to look…..and would not be invited anyway……..to look inside.——-006

That is common now. Plus, since the pandemic, there are all kinds of commie laws so the banks can't get em out. My neighbor stopped paying on his house about 5 years ago and left. Its empty, and It STILL hasnt been sold off. Someone is eating that default. So the banks are dying along with everything else. The small ones at least. The fed just bails them out and hands down more rules they have to comply with as payment.
It's all a giant ponzi scheme bro. Most banks have NO cash in them. That's why they require all this notice if you want to make a sizeable withdrawal.
I keep telling my parents to get any money out of the bank. You make no interest, you get the stuff taxed out of it, and when the bottom drops out the Fed will lock the banks and you won't get your money at all.

It ain't good buddy.

I'm Back in the Saddle....... . Sooo a week ago Momma kidnapped Me to drive to Alabama to visit some relatives . I didn't want to go and She knew it . it was about 1500 miles round trip. We got down there finally. they live in a killer brick home that is worth around 500k......7' windows, 12' ceilings, everything they have is the best of anything I ever saw.in ground pool in the backyard. I live in the bad side of Hicksville and this is hard to take.. . I want to leave....
My Wife's cousin and Her Husband from the start were very nice. The Host Glenn is 80 years old and to look at him he acts about 50 . We hit it off from the start. A Great old country boy. We go on the usual round town tours to see what's up. Thursday We drive over to the Jack Daniels Distillery and take the tour that includes a tasting event. right up my alley. Friday on the way to a Sisters house We drive by the farm where Glenn was born in '42. tiny little house is still there, His brother lives next door. He says they didn't have electricity until He was 14 in '56. His dad had 102 acres and they grew corn and cotton and share cropped other land using mules for power. they had no car. when He graduated from High school He went in the Air Force in '61. got away from the farm. He ended up getting a job with the Bell/phone system for 30+ years. We had a great time together. My Brother from another Mother.
Gas along the way was around $2.99-$309. . cars on the interstates were rolling 80-90+ miles an hour . less than 80 and your in the way. In Alabama, Tenesee, I saw -0- State Troopers on the road. two in Kentucky.
Alone I-65 in Kentucky on the way down We saw the biggest construction site I ever could think of. on the way back it was busy off the hook Saturday ,looked like it was a mile long. Momma got on the I-phone thing and it's in Glendale Kentucky . Ford is spending $5 billion to build an EV battery plant that will employ 5000 workers. have a Good day Guys Rant over.

Well, I tell ya………I just back from this Yuppie food store……….did mom a favor………..I walk in with jeans and a Harley T shirt with a skull, chains and wrenches on the front.

People in there were the weakest looking group of people I’ve ever seen…….even in my old age, with help from Jay, I could have whipped everyone in the store……..this woman in front of me while waiting in line had to have every thing she bought wrapped in Saran Wrap…WTF? I don’t wait for idiots like that so I moved a register over. After it was rung up the cashier told me to put my card in this little machine…..huh?….I whipped out a roll of green and gave her a handful of Jackson’s……she looked at me like she didn’t know what to do…
:D

Whew! Jay is right…..this country is doomed………what’s next, rowboats for our Navy…..squirt guns for the Marines….balsa planes for the A.F.?

Yea…..like 1929…….the feds put Bernie Madoff in prison for a million years for doing exactly what the government is doing……massive Ponzi scheme……….

That’s why it pays…literally…….to keep yo head above da water……I always tell people…”pay off your house first”…..you can always get a $1.98 car but the roof ova da head be’s impotent.

Did you hear about the 3 bros who were garbage men. One day one came to work dressed in a tuxedo and the other guys said, “hey man’s, we is garbage men, what yo doing dressed like dat?”. The guy in the tuxedo said he was at the doctors and the doctor toad him he was impotent so he figured he might as well dress impotent.

I hate being here….moms doc has an office in the hospital…….drive 10 miles, hunt for parking place, take elevator to third floor, get out, walk 200 feet to the other side of the hospital, get on another elevator, to the second floor, walk another 150 feet then I stop in the hallway and take a seat….I,don’t want to wait in the office where other people are gagging, coughing, passing gas, and wetting themselves.

Hey buddy, I feel for ya. I hate them places. Up here, ours usually have a chicken coop attached and the people in the waiting room have to turn a crank to generate power for the x-ray machine. The x-ray is made from a decommissioned soviet nuclear submarine from 1960. The night after a visit, I have a hard time sleeping, cause my skin glows green. :?

Went and picked up the old man this morning and drove the mile up the road to visit our buddy who had the gunshop. He is ok, but boy has he gone downhill and aged. He has closed the old shop and has been selling everything off. There wasn't much left anyway. It's sad. I grew up out there, and learned a lot from the old fella. I'm really thankful he took the time to teach me so much, answer my endless questions, let me use his tools, and gave free time and labor to this old idiot hick.

It's sobering to See the Old people decline......We have a family picture from My Grandparents 50th anniversary in '73. about half of those in the pic are gone. I've lived here on Hickville road for 45 years and am now the oldest left as all the old people have gone.
Back to Alabama , My Brother from Another Mother Glenn drove Me around in His Toyota Tacoma truck He bought new in 2003. over 200k on it. not one speck of rust anywhere . He apologized for the rough ride as He has truck tires on it . . I about upset My pants laughing . He took Me to three Gun shops . one is run by the local cops and He knows all of them. they had a shelf full of primers. I'm down to 1500 large pistol at home. can I buy a whole brick? Shure they say. Take the shelf if you want them all. :D . here in Ohio they limit primers to 200 at a time. .
Gale winds again here, I hate the wind. warm Thursday and back down in the 20's Friday......the weather yo-yo.

…well Jayster….your bud at the gun shop will always be remembered……..that’s all any of us can hope for……we are all just travelers, hoping to have the right sense to stop at the right places.

And 45…..mom and me had our 50th in August……it always wasn’t easy, but it sure was worth it………

On another subject, I had the bonfire of the century….at least enough old wood to fill @ 2 car garage…..started it yesterday morning ….after about 5-10 hours I got the mighty Kubota out and used the loader to push it all together…..again twice today……..after eats down the road, it was my monthly shower and I had the dirtiest Kubota in the US of A…so I power washed that baby up and tomorrow will be another day……..that’s all any of us can do———-have another day and hope for the best.——006

I sure miss bonfires, my nextdoor neighbour had one the other day and I felt like jumping the fence just to throw some wood on it....
As for watching old folks decline I am always shocked when I see movie stars that were tough guys on screen a few years back and now look like withered up old men.
Was it Al Capone who once said " live fast die young and have a good looking corpse"....?

Well…GK…..you may be on to something…I did live fast mostly out of necessity …racing here and there……but I live in the 1930’s-1940’ which requires more time………

Funny thing about Jays x ray machine having to be hand cranked by the people in the waiting room…..I think I have him beat….. our doctors here are no better than vets…..I got better information from the internet for my Meniers than 9 doctors and 3 ENT’s gave me…and that’s for real.

Just had a visit from my buddy ….gave me a vibrator. (For cleaning brass). Think I have 7 now.

I feel like S…..cold and rainy….can feel all my joints, especially my back and muscles….slept maybe 4 hours……it’s my fault as I power washed the tractor yesterday and I needed the loader last night to consolidate the burning wood out back but I didn’t want to dirty up the tractor again so I put on a pair of leather gloves that are about 1/4” thick and grabbed the burning logs that were anywhere from 2 lbs to 100 lbs and heaved them together to get the fire going again.

That’s what you get for being half Italian….but……but….that Kubota is shinning in the barn, all clean with tire shine on em….

You guys are lucky not to have this nasty weather……..NOTHING beats me up like cold and rainy weather….it could be 10 degrees outside and dry and I feel like a million bucks…..well, not a million cause I’ve never seen a million……say $800…….I did see 3 million one time and it wasn’t in a bank and sadly wasn’t mine…..I was a “helper”….but unpaid….

Well, ain’t heard from the Jayster……hope that radiation from the hand cranked x ray machine filled with unpurified plutonium didn’t mess him up too bad…..those straw and paper “protectors” they use to protect your body up that way are outdated …..from what I read…..poor sucker might be glowing………

Called the Texas Road House for a reservation…..booked solid…..who says there’s no money?….

WELL CAPTAIN 45 COLT…….let’s hear about the road trip……(did you kiss Annie Oakley?….on the cheek?) one thing for sure, she was u-g-l-y...more man than woman

I'm ok!
More snow coming. It's the roulette wheel of snow again. Who knows how much we'll get. I've heard everything from 5 to 14 inches. Don't matter.
I ran out and cranked a few rounds through the 1911 this morning. When I pulled onto the logging road where I shoot in the winter, there was a dude strapping some "prayer beads" (tire chains) on a 3/4 ton Chevy. I stopped and asked if he needed a hand. Said he was all set, then asked if I thought I'd make it as the road was nothing but 6 inch thick ice. I said yeah, no problem.
It was no problem. :D

First time since the winter of ‘72-73 where we have had no snow…..you get aaaaallllll the good stuff……

Many years ago my first truck as an adult was a 1971 Ford f250 2 wheel drive…it snowed about 8” while I was at work….a dry powdery snow that slippery……to get home I have to go down a steep hill and then go up another…..half dozen cars went down and that’s where they stayed…..I went down and couldn’t get up so I remembered I had two “strap ons”….the kind you feed through the rim and around the tires…..one for each back wheel…….up the hill I went….next morning two cars were still there.

On another note my wife refuses to wear a seat belt…..she hooks it behind here but the belt digs in her back. I fixed that tonight and it works.

In some part of Philly there is a community refrigerator where homeless people can put their food in or they can just help themselves when they are hungry. Well, last night someone stole the whole refrigerator and the food in it.

I think it was Calamity Jane and Belle Starr that were not so easy on the eye.

Driving when it's slippery if you don't have traction aids is like flying an airplane. You better get plenty of speed before you have to climb. It amazes me how little people understand physics. They think if they drive 10 miles an hour, they are safe. These are usually the ones that drive 110 in the summer.

Hey! Tell your wife to stay strong. Solidarity! I won't wear a seat belt either.
Now, I don't care if someone wants to. Just like I don't care if someone wants to wear shorts (something else I will not do), but it's the same kind of decision.
I won't wear a seat belt because it's an arbitrary and BS law. No different than saying you have to wear a green shirt, because statistics say it's safer.
The laughable part is while it's a law here you have to wear a seat belt, there is no motorcycle helmet law. Why? Cause bikers have more Solidarity and put up a fuss.

As you can see, this is a hot topic with me. The seat belt laws were some of the first "Big Brother" nanny state laws , and got the ball rolling to where we are now.

About one mile from here, out here in Cali it is curvy roads they say are dangerous. And, the offender drove off. Can you imagine, didn’t stick around to help the triple A guy. Well, hail was predicted.

The many spills I had on a motorcycle my helmet never even got scratched, didn't have to wear them back when I started but good leather gloves have always been my must have items for motorcycling as I always tried to save my pelt with my hands rather than my head. Same with horse riding most stables insist on you wearing a helmet for insurance reasons, I totally refused to wear anything but a Stetson or my CSA kepi ....health and safety rules have turned men into wimps..

Glad that you too do not wear shorts Jay, when I was in Williams AZ some cowboy reenactors really took the P out of some tourist in the crowd for turning up with out his pants... when I told friends I was going to AZ they all said I would have to wear shorts because of the heat, I said in all the Westerns filmed in AZ I have watched I can't remember ever seeing anyone wearing shorts. Cowboy Up has been my motto for sometime....

OS they sure don't make trucks like they used to... :o

Yup. Ive lived a life where I did things. You look pretty stupid wearing a pistol with shorts on.
Walking through brush and raspberry bushes, jeans may not provide a lot of protection, but a darned sight more than shorts do.
I don't know......I know it's just me, but it seems like with shorts you ought to be wearing a hat with a propeller on it. I see guys walking around here in the winter with shorts on. I guess they think it makes them look tough. Makes em look like an idiot if you ask me.

Years ago a UK postman got the sack for wearing shorts, the postmen went on strike and got his job back and now nearly all postmen wear shorts and it isn't a pretty sight :?

Yup. Same here.
Years ago, you could tell a mailman by his uniform. They looked professional and took their job seriously.
You ought to see em now. No uniform, walking around looking like a bunch of clowns. And interestingly, the mail is screwed up all the time. I'm sure it's not related though.
Oh, I know........"grumpy old man".
Yup. No doubt about it. But just because someone is grumpy, a pessimist, or "glass half empty" kind of person....it don't necessarily make them wrong.

Thanks Bro…..I needed that……..I’m the exact same way especially with the “glass half empty”. :D I’ve ALWAYS been that way…..It’s coming…it’s coming………it’s time for Jay to join the “Total T” team with Frank Thomas and Doug who-play-the-skin-flute Fluty…….and “she will like it too”……

On a serious note, being a pessimist keeps you alive and your head above water……there are plenty of times when you know you can laugh and be in condition white.

On the seatbelts…..I totally disagree except in certain conditions…..At work the engine on our forklifts would shut off unless you were buckled in. I HAVE been in situations many times where I HAD to jump off………would not be here now if I listened to the bosses……”failure to wear prescribed safety gear” was my number one write up……meeting after meeting only showed total ignorance on the companies interpretation of safety……..they had insurance and I was replaceable to them….I wasn’t to my family so I thumbed my nose at them with total defiance and told the shipping #1 manager guy, “look here M.F…you ain’t killing me”…..”just leave me the f alone”. “I forgot more about driving than any shirt and tie insurance man”…

It worked and I made one of those gadgets for my forklift……I would play the game and if he came along while I was with other people I’d rush to put my belt on.

BUT…..had I had a seatbelt on in 1978 I’d still have my pearly whites, no concussion and multiple facial reconstruction operations.

Don’t think my Rubicon has had the seatbelt buckled 5 times in 18 years…

For me it's about freedom. Safety is the new communism. I don't care what anyone wants to do. Roll up in bubble wrap if you want.
BUT LEAVE ME ALONE. If my actions aren't endangering someone else, it don't matter.

Yea…dude….your lucky to be living where you are……………I forgot how many truckers have told me they won’t accept loads going into New Jersey…..flat out said, they will be with less money than what the load pays…….if the cops don’t get a trucker on a moving violation they will get them on road tolls and stickers….you know those stickers are that are plastered on the tractors for each state they drive through…

Well once again I'm the LONER.......I spend most of the summer months in wrangler camouflage shorts. when it get's hot and humid here I can't take it. long pants of any kind and I feel like I'm in a sauna. I'll tip my hat to anyone who can where long pants in the summer here. The Amish logging crews do but they are usually done by early afternoon before it gets nasty. And I bet they have a secret recipe for cooking the Deer ticks that are all over them......blueberry Jam.....? .

No your not.....I wear shorts asap.....in fact, about April when the temps are in between I'll wear long John's and shorts....funny look but those things don't bother me no more......except if me and mom are going out, like 2 or 3 days a week I'll put on my fancy stuff...t shirt, jeans and my Redwings.

Well, I found my IPad .......I have two but I lost my old one and there it was, down in the basement on an old blanket....been on standby for 217 hours....

I was hanging out on the Colt forum tonight......starting to like that place as it's much easier to maintain anonymity without 42 people reading everything I write, putting a spin on it and then hitting the exclamation icon...."Oh Mr. Moderator, Sixgun is saying bad things on their own private thread that I'm not even supposed to be on.....I want him banned!!!"

Sorry boys. I passed out last night. Woke up in my recliner at 1130 and went to bed.
Got to head out and move some snow this morning. Heading back to work tonight.
It was about 8 degrees this morning. So no, I ain't wearing shorts cleaning the driveway.
I wouldn't live anywhere that got hotter than here. I hate sweating, but i hate shorts more. No way. We went to Florida in March one time. Nope. It wasn't unbearable hot, but I swear you could grab a handful of water out of the air.
