Ha! I'll let you in on a secret.....
Old Red has a 35 in the rear with a Detroit Tru-Trac and has gone for 178k.
Now, what I would NOT do, is put a full blown locker in one. There has to be some give. I wheel some rough spots, but I try and go easy. I WILL say, I have snapped a motor mount off in Old Red, but never broke the 35. Even a little 4 banger is capable of immense torque load in 4-low.
What is in Old Yeller now? Ford 8.8s are a popular swap.

Nice boots! I agree. Israeli stuff is generally very good. They are too small a country, with too many enemies, to mess with junk.

Hey Mr Jay man.....'ole six is takin' his monthly shower.

He says 'Ole Yeller has dana 35. The rear in the picture is da one dat came wit the jeep when it's new bak in nineteen eighty nine.

I gave dem boots to six. ole six says when he wear dem Israeli boots he wants to go out and stomp ragheads but won't do it 'cause he don't wanna stink dem up. dats same reason he don't wanna go to no blm "protests" ''cause he's fraid he might slip on Afro sheen and musk oil.

Well Birddude, that is clever thinking on ole Six's part. He's pretty clever!
We don't have no Afro Sheen up here. Or musk oil.
We got bacon grease. And mink oil. That kinda the same thing?

Hey...Birdman is taking a bath from my water...we use it first for the dog, then me, then Birdman, then any strangers who need to take a bath.....after that, the water is used to water the tomato plants.

Yes, in a way... bacon grease is close to Afro sheen, but 80-140 gear lube will work too. Mink oil is much too expensive...musk oil, which comes from the underside of public outdoor toilet seats is relatively inexpensive but requires you to use your soup spoon to scrap it off....your call bud.....

Yeah Six I would use a .22 except for the fact the neighbors are down range, air gun is as big as I'm willing to shoot in that direction. The blowgun is very effective, normally a tree rat with a dart through the lungs will only go about 20 yards. I really want a .30 cal air gun but the cost of one plus the cost of a compressor - I'm halfway to a high grade smoooove bore.

I've got pumpkins and watermelons, nothing flowering yet though.

Watermelons? I never did see a picture of you......

Yea...I remember the pic you took of the fence......those deer love pumpkins and gourds of any type.......

Your in construction.....just go to Home Depot and buy 50-60 sheets of 3/4" plywood...it's cheap..about $85 a sheet....then get some 6 x 6's at 24 feet long, sink em in 6' and nail up the plywood.

On a serious note, do you really think a powerful air rifle is more safe than a CCI SHORT or LONG CB CAPS?

Or, just buy the guys house and tear it down. I know a guy who did that......this is the guy who used to get me all that Colt stuff right out of their archives vault......he has a huge house on the hill a few miles down the road but there was a house that blocked his view of the valley.....he made an offer the owner of the house could not refuse.......and tore it down.....wasn't no junker either as it cost him $600 big ones and the house sat on two acres....

Man! You got the money! Life is short...play hard!

Yes watermelons, not for me but the dogs love em...
Actually yes I do know my pellet rifle is much safer, 8.0 gr doesn't richoet like a cb does. Now if I move the feeder to the back of the house then I might use a 22 but ya cant see the birds from the kitchen window.

Building materials are starting to come down but its still ridiculously over priced.

Had a short day, jacked up a deck, the 4 posts under the girder were rotting on the bottom, yes pressure treated will rot, 30' run and at the lowest the deck sunk almost 3 ".

Got home to build this,

Ramp for my mother so she can get out of the house, between spine issues and now her knees causing problems the only way out with her walker are ramps. As Dad always said- Golden Years...My A__ !

So after my weekly chiropractor appointment I got home and hooked up the trailer and loaded the Ranger for tomorrow's work party. As I walked by it I noticed the front right over coil is broken! I walked around the other side and the spring is ok but the strut is bent!! Have seethe past hour searching for aftermarket replacements.... not much out there, guess I have to go OEM, we know how good that is!

You have cedar shingles! High class! Some of the rich folks around here who have old farmhouses have cedar shingles for a roof. I heard they can last 100 years...is that true?

Coil springs breaking? A WTF moment for sure....

I can attest to the quality of pressure treated lumber having lived here for 46 years. I've never had a problem with it rotting but fence posts will sometimes dry out and it's just an easy push to break em at the base.....

At the very back of our property is around 300 feet of fencing my FIL put up in the sixties. The fencing has long deteriorated but the post are still there and SOLID...don't believe you could drill a hole in those posts they are so hard.....yea, I don't have to tell the master of woodworking that the posts are black Locust......

Thanks for the link Harry, sadly those do not fit my machine. Everywhere I've looked it's the same, nothing fits my 570 midsize. Appreciate it though.

Only thing as good if not better for fence posts than black locust is Osage. Yep cedar shingles, original to the house in '64. About 25 years ago I resided the whole house. The southern exposure needs redoing, sun just beats them.

My chiropractor buddy's son just graduated high school. The superintendent gave the usual speech with the exception of calling for the kids entering military service, of which 'little Joe' is on of them, Coast Guard. Anyhow the superintendent asked those going military to stand and be recognized. 4 kids out of 350 stood. A round of applause was asked for, those 4 kids got a standing ovation that lasted minutes... maybe some pride of country is returning?

Man, is it miserable in this dump tonight. Little better now than when we got here at least. Work week is half over.
Gotta work 2 days next weekend and then I'm off for a while.
Heading up to see the boy and his family. Taking my parents this time. Glad my dad will finally get to Alaska.

Good for you.....Knowing what I know now I suggest to you to F em over as often as possible........the humidity in our plant was about 100% in the summer time....in the bottling industry lots of steam is used and I put up with that for 25 years straight until I had the seniority to work in an outside warehouse......but the "bros" just starting their jobs always complained and wanted to know why me and few others always had the easy jobs...and they pushed for it...everyday....did EVERYTHING they could to get me and a few others fired so they could "move right on up".....the younger white guys were no better.

That's just another reason why I have an attitude.

I hear you buddy. This place is now run like EVERYONE is in management. Special little jobs for special little people. Seniority means less than nothing. They purposely screw over the old guys. It's all on the "buddy system" and who has the "purtiest mouth". They just made a guy the head of quality that has been there 3 years......3 years! He has run one machine and never done anything with inspection. They don't let people who aren't on days bid on jobs. It's unbelievable. I screw em all I can. They can fire me if they want. I WILL NEVER BOW AND BE SOMEONE I'M NOT.

You guys whining about working.....should have followed in my footsteps and became a Teamster.....I make the same take home money for doing nothing...of course, that was not much even when I was working.....

Now, on to fun things.......took mom to the doctors and for reasons that don't fit into the narrative she needed a wheelchair and the appointment was in the hospital.....up to the third floor then we had to go down this 200 feet hallway that was slightly on a slope with two smooth humps. It was the perfect place to get this wheelchair going 20 mph. So, as we begin the descent I hop on the pegs of the wheelchair and that baby started gaining speed.

No one else was in the hallway.

As we got to about 10 mph, and after the first hump mom turns around to look at me and she sees I'm riding on the back of the wheelchair. Her eyes got big as basketballs. At about 12-14 mph I jumped off and put the skids on with my deep grooved military boots.....what fun!

And all you guys working paid for it all.----Leroy 6

See Gunny....you and me had ALL the fun today.....we also have a handicapped placard so we can park right up in front.....nice air conditioning.....there was one incident that semi boiled my blood but as it has racial overtones I'll bypass it.

Came home to a 72 degree house and Miss Apple was most joyful.....

I got a gunroom that's been neglected......tools all over the place......everytime I need specialized tools I go to the gunroom and fix what needs to be fixed then I leave it out......more drill bits, mill bits, epoxy, pieces of paper, guns and more junk laying all over than you can shake a stick at.

I missed out on a nice Smith 686-4 today. Kinda bummed. Ive always kinda wanted one. Last thing I need is another .357 haha. It is a cartridge with a lot of utility though.
I swore off it for over 20 years, but now I'm back on it more than ever.
Even old Six made me add to the bunch. Bout time to get that sweet flat top out again! My Colt SAA too!

Jayster,
I can read your mind and your mind tells me you would have been better off with a 90% Flattop....you don't want to put wear on it......silly......just don't holster the heck out of it.....it's been shot.......even if you want to carry it get an Uncle Miles nylon holster.....they don't have the "drag" of leather.....

This 10" 44 Flattop has 24,593 round out of it.....you can't hurt it...shoot!!!...........not really, I think it's closer to 24 rounds.

Well bro, your off for a few days...party time?!! (You want a good laugh....Old Savage tried to set me up....go read the "From Colt" thread.)

Well, bats in the belfry. gk, now I thought Sixer would be along to help out on the details of the From Colt thread. Saw that somewhere else. Going to have to hangout up for more details. Seems it is thought by some here not to be a Colt.

This one is a Colt.

I'm merely a fly on the wall over on that post. I'm nothing if not self aware. :D
Just beautiful OS. Someday I WILL have a 4.75" 44 Special.
I don't want to part ways with my 1st gen 5.5" 45 or my 2nd gen .357 to do it, however.
Can I have yours?

Wowzers its hot again, we knocked off at 130. Just too blasted hot to be without a breeze at least.
Got home and started to water the dogs- er I mean the flowers, Parker and Winnie got in the way of the hose A LOT! Claro doesn't like the hose so I have to play cat & mouse with her. I'm soaked, smell like a sweaty wet 🐕 too!

I walked outside and came right back in.

Fred...looking further, I don't know what that gun is...it has the right colors to be a Colt but that hammer ain't right......I don't know and I don't give a S....I know what I have here and that's all that matters.....

A bat? Keep one next to the door....

I'm good until 90 degrees but I slow down around 85....at 95 I shut down.....

Watching these C5 Galaxy planes...big suckers.......I'd need two to house my Colts and three for the Winchesters........for people who have Rossi's, there's a place about 15 miles down the road to house them.....county
