GK, not to belabor the point but is fly tipping referring to stuff that's unwanted but useable or is it simply trash dumping?

Walt, most of the fly tipping is trash anything from old tires and broken furniture to household garbage, although the bondage equipment I found dumped was in first class condition  including handcuffs, leg restraints, ball gags and rope...the police were informed because there was a lot of correspondence with names and addresses included.
In my job I had about a thousand miles of highway to cover so I often found fly tipping which had to be removed by the City council.

Typical fly tipping blocking farm access.

That's pretty pathetic but it unfortunately is similar to the messes that moron shooters make here on public lands. They oughtta be shot, survivors shot again.

“Showing off because they can brag they have stuff to throw out”……..that made my day.

Back when I was kid there was this little used road/cut through about 200 yards long…….we called it “washing machine alley”….

Well, I SHOULD have gone to camp and got some work done.
Instead, I cranked up the old Harley and rode up through Coburn Gore to the border. It's a beautiful ride up through there. Up through Carrabasset Valley along the river, crossing the Appalachian Trail and up through the mountains to Chain of Ponds. Nice ride. When I got home, I changed the oil. All I have to do is clean it up and it'll be ready for storage.

Worlds going to hell GK….now I hear the government wants to push forward a cashless society……..of course it’s just a few in government as something like that would never pass……the “hood” operates on cash and EBT cards, most average people use cash and everyone in the House of Reps. (435), one hundred Senators and probably 30,000 more people connected to government have safes stacked full of green wrapped up in neat $5,000 cash wrappers from the top to the bottom.

I'm still here boys.
Monday night I sat in the emergency room with Kristy till 11pm. She was at work and went to take something off a pallet. There was a case of canned soup on top she wasn't tall enough to see. It slid off and struck her on the left side of her face. She's ok, but got a concussion and punched a tooth through her lip. Luckily, it wasn't worse. A case of soup is about half her weight. She's just a little bitty thing.
She's been home with me this week, so that's been nice, just not for that reason. I did run to camp yesterday for a while. Checked the cameras but only had one doe on them. We are supposed to go up and stay over this week if she's up to it.

No loose teeth? you just never know what’s in store for you……a case of soup isn’t light and it could have been much worse for a skinny, but tough gal like Kristy……send her our best……

Yea GK……there used to be a law here that said you had to leave a paw on a skinned animal. Down in Marcus Hook, which is a refinery and was a stop town for foreigners was loaded with bars….still is…..guys I worked with who lived there said no one would eat at the Chinese eatery and if you lived nearby they would see these little Chinese people sneaking around looking for cats. The Chinese people had some kind of a long stick with a small ball attached to a chain at the end. They would use one end for poking around and when the cat took off they would swing the pole around and whack the cat.

Big ride today…we finally have rain coming….

Right now we are at camp. Just had supper and now we are in the dooryard with a fire burning in a truck rim. I'm sipping a cold beer and Kristy is toasting marshmallows while Gracie oversees.

Not much happening over here, still waiting for Summer to begin 🙄
I'm trying to get enthusiastic about refinishing the stock on my Stevens.410 the 16 gauge also needs to be stripped and refinished but the stocks are Birch and Beech and I have never been completely happy with such stocks I have refinished in the past, Walnut is much easier to get decent results. I saw my 16 gauge in a Russian war movie the other night, there must be thousands of them in Russia, probably the only gun the peasants can afford.

The best luck I've had with birch stock finishing is by using Fieblings leather dye as the base coat, then Tru-oil over it. It gives an even finish, and brings out what grain there is, without being blotchy like regular stain.

Helped this obviously well off fellow from Dubai with $20 for gas for his Suburban when he could not get his credit card to work. He also didn’t have much English. He handed me this ring which my daughter the jewelry connoisseur tells me is real - 18k gold. She found one like it online that had sold for $986 at auction.

That's where I got it haha!
I will check what color I have and can post before and after pics of the stock I did if you like buddy.

I DO know that when I first put it on that stock I about threw up. It looked really red, and bad. Once it soaked, however, it mellowed out to where I added another coat.
I'll get some pics up.

And you took it?

I'm back in business......12 small engines to winterize all with new plugs, oil, fresh 93 octane gas with Stabilizer.....well, really only 6 engines as the other 6 are new this year.......

Party time!!!!

When I bought the Stihl MS 251 in 2019 the guy gave me a screaming deal so I bought 2 of them but waited a year before testing out the other one......fired right up...this was in 2020 or 2021....then I forgot about it until the other day.......I never cut no wood with it, just ran it......well, I drained out the old gas and put in fresh gas with Stabilizer not expecting it to start, figured that the most I would have to do is put on a new carburetor..........first pull...voooom....----006

Why wouldn’t I be OK? I do have a life besides Leverguns…I just talk very little about it. I never air my dirty laundry nor do I discuss the people around me……..the less people know, the better off I am. I learned that from Uncle Joe Stalin……..never let anyone know where your coming from….keep the little minds wondering and while they may have a gun, I dont give them any ammo. Plus, I make up 90% of what I talk about. Pictures can be made up and stories can be just that…a fiction story.

Bought my first Rossi yesterday chambered in .22:CB Cap……chamber was so fat it allowed a 50 BMG to fit in…..

I did change one spark plug on the push mower but that was last month.:D 006….secret agent one digit below number 7….:D

Yeah, I have a number of gas engines that need to be run or winterized; 2 motorcycles, 2 generators including a 13K watt electric start, 2 ATVs, some weed whackers, a snow blower and a pressure washer, chainsaw, etc.

I'm going shooting first thing tomorrow. Taking a Smith 624, a Smith Mountain Gun in .45 Colt, a Smith m15 that I put a used Numrich cylinder into (shoots fine now) and a Winchester m94 in .375 Win. Missed last week because my buddy was sick.

Haha that's funny! I never see that thing around here. I'll have to look and see how old the image is here.
A while back if you looked at my dad's place, you could see Old Red sitting in the dooryard and dad was laying under it working on it.
They never update the Maps view. The one at camp is really old. They probably figure what's the difference, it's just trees anyway.
I stopped up and visited my buddy that had the gun shop yesterday. Man, he's in rough shape. Too bad.
Got the old Harley put up yesterday. I'd changed the oil when I got back from the border last week. I washed it up yesterday and put it in my dad's cellar. Now I gotta get the trail bike ready for hunting season. I have to put the hitch and gun rack back on and change the oil.

Is winter there already? It’s still t shirt weather here and had a low of 62 last night…..perfect sleeping weather……in fact, a crew of Harleys just cruised by………..

I’m having a hell of a time figuring out all of these different spark plugs……..I prefer to stay with NGK but there’s this new plug out called the “E3” ……put one in the STIHL blower last year and I get instant starting with full throttle in seconds….pulled it out last night and it still looks new. …the electrode tip is like a “c”. I put the endoscope through the plug hole and ZERO carbon build up.

I’m headed to Brandywine Hardware to get a new bar and a few chains for the saw. That saw saw lots of hardships….(hey, ya like that, “saw saw”?)

Yeah, that motor looks good!
No, it ain't winter yet. It got to about 60 today. Perfect. It's been in the 40s at night. Was at camp today working in the yard and on the trail down back.
I've never tried those plugs, but I've heard of them. I usually use NGK too.

I looked at those Google maps today. My street was from about 2012. My dad's street (next one over) was from last year.

When I was visiting my buddy yesterday, he said he had one of those little Stihl limbing saws. He said to take it and try it. I may see how it runs, and see what he wants for it.

Jayster,
I talked to the manager down at Brandywine Hardware today and he told me that C3 is taking over the spark plug business.

Pops is cutting the grass with a push mower, the red Jeep is parked off to the side with the John Deere next to it.

Not sure on 4 stroke…(with the C3 plugs)…..as you know, 4 strokes are less problematic, at least in my experience. In the early days plugs would foul easily on chain saws…..My old Polaris sled had twin carbs and even being 4 stroke, the plugs fouled easily. I used to carry tools and a half dozen plugs.

The C3 are supposed (according to what I read) to give better and more even combustion. As I said earlier, I took down my saw…just all the covers, bar,etc and she looks new. The original NGK plug was still in it after 5 years and probably 15 cords of hard wood and countless branches. Anyway, I got the old gas out of it and blew out the gas tank of any debris, dunked the bar and chain in gas and scrubbed it up, washed the air cleaner last night and she looks new (I know, I’m gonna get a new one) cleaned out the oil reservoir…you don’t want saw dust or other junk clogging up the pump hole which is the number one reason why saws stop oiling……….other little odds and ends like checking wire connections…….this saw does not have one of those little plastic bubble things you push on so it took 5 cranks before it fired up and instant full throttle. You got to try those c3 plugs on a 2 stroke……..

I counted up what I have to maintain and it came to 19……..12 gas and 7 electric/battery. If I was born rich like you I’d have people do it all for me while I read and relaxed…seriously, it gives me something to do and work what’s left of my brain.

As recommended to me by the worlds best small engine mechanic…you know, the guy with the lawn mower junkyard……93 octane gas, stabilizer and 40-1 NOT 50-1. He has seen more engines burned up by using 50-1 which is a government thing. Makes sense as new Stihls have electronic top end rpm’s governed so you can’t run them at full throttle.

Yeah. Two strokes need good fuel. Ethanol gas is the biggest killer of 2 stroke engines today. When it sits, the Ethanol separates and separates the oil. Boom.
I only run Ethanol free fuel in everything but my daily driver.
I like that new Husky. I cuts real good but I still haven't nailed down a good start procedure. On a cold start, I usually prime a couple times, choke it, and drop-start it. It will fire right off, but only for a second. That's when the problem starts. At this point it won't start without throttle. I like to drop-start, so it makes it a PIA to start. If I'm running it pretty steady, it's not a problem, cause it stays at run temp. It's with intermittent use that it's a hassle.

That’s the way my old commercial Homelite used to be…..it was a monstrosity at about 15 pounds….if it didn’t start right away, I was doomed and had to put a clean plug in it.

I find several Stihls of varying needs rarely start on the first pull from a cold start…..I prime and Choke it for 2 pulls then put it on run and they always fire up……I don’t like drop starting unless it’s warm but your arms are longer than mine. I do as they say and you get a longer cord pull.

After 2 pulls on choke your only flooding it out.i don’t mean to sound like the usual idiot I am but put in a C3 plug and 93 octane. I did the basic 3rd grade math and at the end of the year using small engines, including mowers, you may have saved enough money to buy a couple of cases of beer. Even in the Rubicon..93….Ole Yeller always got 93…….I don’t give a S what the “experts” say not do I pay attention to Consumer reports or what some MSN reporter says, I notice a difference with high octane fuel. Common sense says gas loses octane with time so if someone uses 87 octane, in a month that comes down to 85 despite what you read or are told.

Low octane fuel burns hotter and will melt pistons if run hard on a hot day.

Rain today…all day……we need it.
