The red dot ot green dot Aimpoint type.
Any of you old timers use these? What brands do you like?
I can get a BSA for about 30 bucks. My dealer says it would be good on my Ruger 10/22.
My old eyes are not what they used to be. So I'm thinking about my lever .22 and .357 too.

BSA is going to have about a 3 MOA or bigger dot.
IMEX The more expensive the red dot, the smaller, brighter and more controlable the dot will be.

This "old tymer" will not use any device on his guns that require a battery to function. Even the Eveready bunny batteries will be dead the minute you need the gun. Murphy's law.Any of you old timers use these? What brands do you like?
I prefer peep sights.

Re: electric sight
I treated my self, one Christmas, to a Trijicon Safari scope (which was "on sale" at swfa.com) - which uses no batteries.
The reticle is a normal post, with a fiber-optic illuminated tip in daylight (that can be shut off if desired) and a Tririum insert, also at the tip, for night use.
The fiber optics are available in amber or red, and the view through the scope is below
