electric sight

Post by MikeS. »

The red dot ot green dot Aimpoint type.

Any of you old timers use these? What brands do you like?

I can get a BSA for about 30 bucks. My dealer says it would be good on my Ruger 10/22.

My old eyes are not what they used to be. So I'm thinking about my lever .22 and .357 too.

BSA is going to have about a 3 MOA or bigger dot.

IMEX The more expensive the red dot, the smaller, brighter and more controlable the dot will be.

I love mine. Hits 2" gongs at 75 yards ALL DAY LONG!

Cheapo BSA (I figured no recoil on a .22!)

This "old tymer" will not use any device on his guns that require a battery to function. Even the Eveready bunny batteries will be dead the minute you need the gun. Murphy's law.

I prefer peep sights.

This Olde Tymer would love to have one of their Micro Dots, but $450 is just a bit steep right now!!!

I have a BSA that I'm not terribly impressed with. The dot has a tendency to flicker and occassionally go out. When it's behaving, it's fine.

I treated my self, one Christmas, to a Trijicon Safari scope (which was "on sale" at swfa.com) - which uses no batteries.

The reticle is a normal post, with a fiber-optic illuminated tip in daylight (that can be shut off if desired) and a Tririum insert, also at the tip, for night use.

The fiber optics are available in amber or red, and the view through the scope is below
