American gun company New Yorker

Post by fordwannabe »

The collection of knowledge here amazes me most of the time so I am gonna ask a shotgun question. Does anybody know if the American Gun Company New Yorker used the same size frame for the 28 gauge and the .410? Thanks.

Now that's a good question... I've not seen a small gauge one.

I’d show you a picture but I forgot it at my buddy’s gunshop yesterday. There were two on guns America that showed in a search.

I would think they probably used a 20 ga frame. That's been the normal for a long time.

Tom I finally looked up the American Gun Company, also know by Crescent Arms. Like I said I've never seen a small gauge one. I doubt a company like this would have scaled the frames for 410/28, be my guess it's a 20ga frame.

Now if it was a Fox Sterlingworth I got a semi inlet in the basement. I have no idea where I got it or when!!

That's a good question, it's just a semi inlet . I'll try to remember to post a rew pics later.

Edit- now that my brain fog has lifted after a good dump my mind is ready for action!

Tom it's a hammerless stock. I'll post pics.

I’ve got a Crescent Arms 410 and we’ve had three of them in the shop . I would say they’re smaller then a Crescent 20 but I’ve never seen or atleast noticed a Crescent 20 .

I could be wrong ( but I doubt it on this) AH Fox never made a hammer gun of any kind be it a Sterlingworth or a graded Fox .

Well there ya go must be a hammerless.
Thanks for the reply on the crescent also. Now where do I get a stock for it? Don’t care about originality so much as the locks have been chrome plated and the barrels have been cut A LOT.
Hate to use such blasphemous terms but I might be better to part it out at this point. Dunno?

Time to start trolling the auction sites, gun shows and the like. Ya might get lucky, I did when I found a bolt for my little Winchester single shot 22, cost me more than a C note though!

Oaks gun show is in February. If I have recovered financially from the Sixgun deal. I will be on the lookout or there is a guy from Empire gun parts that I have done business with in the past and see what parts he’ll trade me for it. I have a mossberg 46 to part out also.
