Aloha Ganjiro: Thanks for posting these...glad I finaly got them to you.. Likewise, it was a pleasure meeting you and Vandi.. Wyoming is always open to you two for a visit and a hunt..
Now everyone can see where the red dirt comes from for the red dirt shirts.. that ram was one that my guide said "too little"..
My guide, Jacob, is in the camo shirt.. Paul the skinner is the other hawaiian..
I'm the sunburned scratched up Haole in the next picture with the carbine leaning against my knee..
Makeing meat....
one of the pigs, not monster but fine freezer size..
Shoulda had a long sleeve shirt.. the thorns did a number on my arms..
Jacob's youngest boy, and a tender eater ram..

Jacob said the vehicle was a 1945 Ford duece and a half.. NO Brakes.. lots of excitement getting stopped a couple of times.. I had a great time, would highley recomend Niihau Safaris.. only one time would a scoped 06 been a little better, we were on the beach trying for a head shot on a ewe for their freezer.. couldn't connect at the longer ranges with the 44 mag... what were the calibers you used on the hunt and for what game? Rossi looks nice. about 4 months more of waiting for Steve to slick mine up.

rjohns94: the Puma is a 44 mag, shooting Winchester 240 gr white box ammo.. JSP..most of the shots were from 35 to 70 yds.. did fine.. Les

When I lived on the "Big Island" of Hawaii back 26+ years ago we hunted the wild sheep on both Mt. Hualalai, and Mauna Kea. The younger lambs are always more tender, less gamey, but if you like mutton you'll like Hawaiian sheep. I usually prepared them in curry, chili, or teriyaki BBQd but stronger taste not really bad just different.

I didn't get to taste that one, but the guide had some dried/salted jerky made of sheep.. it was great! I hunted the day before I flew out to Hololulu and left a fresh ham and loin in the freezer for my landlord/host on Kaua'i. If its anything like wild boar from Texas, it's delicious!! Les
