Great Grand Mum's pet deer
Was at a family reunion a few weeks back and found this picture of my G.G. Mother with her pet deer, this was back in the 60's I can remember this deer when I would go to visit her on her old farm in PA, she didn't keep it in a pen it would run wild all day and in the evening it would show up back at the farm house and walk right into the kitchen. She would pour it a big bowl of milk and before it would drink it it would stick it whole head into the bowl,us kids would get a kick out of that.
My Great Grand Mum was a tuff old gal she raised 13 kids on that farm with no electricity till the 1940's no bathroom just the old out house out at the end of the yard, no hot water.
She made the best home made bread on earth!
Man,I miss them days.............

Was a bit young for most of that but do remember the Farm in St Marie's PA and Lewis county WV meeting that description and Mom had a pet deer on my farm in WV.

You certainly come from good stock, not so many could do what your great grand ma did nowadays.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!
Re: Great Grand Mum's pet deer
When I saw the word "mum", I was wondering if you were from PA (probably western PA). I'm from there and that's how we say it, just like our British cousins do.

It was always Mum & Pappy for our Grand Parents, and we would use there last name after it depending on which side of the family you where talking about... ex...Mum Booher is the one in the picture
Re: Great Grand Mum's pet deer
Yep. Huntingdon County is only a couple counties away.
