Hudson, WI -- What To Do?

Post by Griff »

Well... silly me... pushed hard to get my freight off all across WI, and have 3 stops left in MN... but they're all closed til Monday! Any levergunners out here near Hudson, WI... and feel like adopting a trucker for a weekend?

Definitely one of the more dismal aspects of such a vagabond lifestyle!

You have my admiration for dealing with freight people. At least my power plants are happy to see me no matter the day or time.

THAT explains why you're so angry all the time  Especially in February.

If it were over the other half of the week, I'd have offered. Probably would've dragged you to a bunch of gun shops over a large radius and likely would've ended up at the range for a while.

As it is, today was my second 12-hour shift out of three for this weekend and still have tomorrow to go.

Your timing is off. Out of town this weekend. Last weekend was the sass match which was about 30 minutes from HUdson. Gun shops in town are on the south side of 94 . Bills gunshop is also a shooting range in the old movie theater and the Fleet Farm has good gun/hunting section. Just a few blocks apart. Not a lot of leverguns in those stores, but still stuff to look at.

To bad we could of put some lead down range. Maybe next time.

Minneapolis, Eden Prairie & final stop is St. Cloud 'bout noon tomorrow. Then picking up on Tues. in Perham, MN to head off to PA. Over on the west side of Minneapolis tonite for my delivery in the AM... nice quiet neighborhood off Hwy 7 near 100.

Yep... like above... the story of my life. I looked on the SASS site and saw I missed their shoot by a week... otherwise I'd not have asked... that's where I'd of been!

Hope y'all were safe from any ill-effects of the storms yesterday! Looked wicked on the weather.gov site over the north of the Twin Cities!

Met with levergunner PShort today for an afternoon touring the Camp Ripley Museum and droolin' over some fine leverguns! Picked up a couple of history books and received a surprise gift from Paul of another book on John M. Browning.

Thank you again Paul. It was a wonderful afternoon away from thr truck and doin' that "sight-seeing" thaing!

PS: Be sure to say "hi" to Pitchy for me the next time you see him.

Howdy,
Turns out that Griff was going to be passing about a mile from my house on his way to Perham..
We met up at the Randall Café, had lunch, then a great time at the Military Museum..
Back to my place for a visit, then he was on his way...
I feel fortunate to have met Griff and spend a few hours with him...
A real gentleman, I must say.......
